Villanelles is the brainchild of four friends with a common drive: creative ambition. Formed over the last few years, Villanelles started in a bedroom with the strum of a long forgotten chord, and has since evolved into a formidable machine, comprised of keen perceptions of organized sound.
Over the past year, the band has written numerous songs, spanning genres, with a central fixation on rock, pop, and folk. There is a certain love for music and instrumentation in the notes and melodies presented by Villanelles, and that is all too clear in their live performance.
They have recently released a short EP, as well as a longer set of live recordings mastered at 90.1 WRUV. Villanelles see music and these recordings as auditory artwork, meant for anyone with enough passion to feel it. Both of these releases are available for free download at www.villanellesmusic.com
Now the four young gentlemen, Zane, Evan, Tristan, and Kevin continue to write, record and experiment with the different mediums of their constantly evolving musical spectrum. They are currently working on a new EP, delving deeper and refining the sound that is Villanelles, and look forward to playing across this U S of A.
