Noekken is a new version of a song Hans made 20 years ago, where the mythical character connected to the element of water in lakes and rivers plays his fiddle, while several related spirits are having their yearly springfeast, the Dionysos-way. Titi is an old lullaby and Villrot has arranged it in a kind of "halling-rock", Rihonori is Jorunns song from springtime-07 made for studioproduction-examination. Det Hjalar is a Villrot version from a part of "Gamalstev", old traditional material, and Julgeitson is an old Norvegian ballad from the north, with special Villrot-sound. Villrot - a Norwegian band doing our kind of music since 1999. This music is inspired from old Norwegian folkmusic mixed with new creations and improvising.The members of the group have been studying and performing traditional music as well as blues, rock, jazz, and been working in different groups and bands since 80..s, some times together. Villrot uses some old historical instruments in the performances, as hardingfiddle, hurdygurdy, jewsharp, nordic bagpipe and keyfiddles. The songs are mostly in norwegian, some are lullabyes, old ballads, old folk tunes and mere improvisation. ........ .. .. .. .. ................ .. .. .. .. ....
