Writing is my life. I write mainly poetry and lots of eccentric songs. I also dabble in other forms of writing for theater and film. I enjoy doing spoken word at live venues. I'm into surrealism and I'm a bit of a "Beat transcendentalist", someone who found the light from the bottom of the barrel in my youth. I began dabbling in poetry and songwriting in my teens. I had brief association with a few Beat poets in Boulder in the 1970s when I was in my twenties, including Bonnie of Bombay Gin fame. Met Ginsberg when he lived in Boulder. And I did occasional byline writing in the 1970s as well. I knew quite a few independent journalists and publishers. But I gained my first strong momentum in poetics and songwriting much later in the 1980s. It takes one skill to write poetry, another to recite it and another entirely to listen. I was born in the early 1950s. But I am connected to all ages, all epochs and all beings.
