Bio
As a life-long Jersey Shore musician, Vinnie Puryear has developed himself into one of the most sought after bass guitarists in the area. Though he is self-taught on the bass, he has become an A-list player through his hard work, dedication and love of all forms of music. Equally adept on guitar and keyboards, he has first introduced to the acoustic guitar at age 10 through a music program provided by the Fair Haven, NJ public school system. He continued his musical education at The Berklee School of Music, where he was a roommate and friend of noted jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut. .. Vinnie's "take no prisoners" approach to bass has landed him jobs with some of the most prestigious bands on the Jersey Shore. Whether the band is jazz, blues, rock, funk, or pop, Vinnie knows the bass line to fit the song. He cites many of the modern masters of bass guitar as his influences. Vinnie's band history includes The Burn, Ear Candy, ..Sonny Kenn Band.., .. Chuck Lambert Band.., ..Anton Roolaart Band.. among many others. He has jammed with Larry Grahm, Jaco Pastorius, Jeff Berlin, and Stanley Clarke, and they have all had a part in shaping Vinnie's style and technique -
