Vincent W. Sakowski's Interests
General
Writing. Reading. Music, movies, and plays of all kinds. I'm a musician as well: guitar, bass, a bit of mandolin. (Many years back, I played bass and guitar in The NPO Conspiracy.) Art and plays. Travel. Adventure. History and archaeology. The environment, and all the things we're doing to harm it. Games of all kinds.
All things Bizarro...

Heroes
As a young kid: my brother and my Dad. In music: Jimmy Page inspired me to play guitar, Jim Morrison: that I could actually sing in a certain range, and then later Lou Reed solidified the idea of singing and song-writing in my own way. In film: well, see my list of directors and favorite films. In literature, see the authors. The most important lesson being to find my own voice, and write in my own way. Superheroes: favorites-- Batman, Spiderman, The Wolverine, Rorschach. And in the regular world-- which is predominated by selfishness and greed-- I admire selfless acts the most, by anyone.

I write a wide range of material from short fiction to novels, poetry and songs to plays. A lot of it delves into the surreal and the absurd, and falls under the umbrella of Bizarro literature.
I've been involved in many aspects of live theater-- acting and directing, writing and producing. My own works have been dark and humorous, bizarre and satirical. As I have done in the past: good Fringe Theater material.
About me: I am a published writer, musician, dramatist, and all around dabbler in the arts. These days, mostly I concentrate on writing. My writing has appeared in a variety of anthologies, magazines, onstage, and on the Internet. My first published novel is SOME THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT UNPLUGGED, from Eraserhead Press.
Another novel just released in 2007 is: NOT QUITE ONE OF THE BOYS, from Afterbirth Books, and a short fiction collection from Eraserhead Press: MISADVENTURES IN A THUMBNAIL UNIVERSE.
Much of my writing delves into the surreal, the absurd, and the bizarre-- often combining different genres of fiction. It is often satirical and socially critical. I call it BLENDER FICTION, but it falls under the umbrella of BIZARRO.
Here is a little promo video for Not Quite One of the Boys as well. You can find it in my Video section too.
Who I'd like to meet: Fellow writers, artists of all kinds, musicians, anyone interested in the surreal, the bizarre, the BIZARRO, creating new works, and helping the environment.

I know not what you speak of, Sakowski. It's not my fault that the phrase "Super Cool" fits me... it floats where it wishes... it just so happens that it chooses to drift from beneath my tongue every now and again. Care to pirate it back?
:P
Me likey me name above, it's different. It also happens to be true for those who accept such ways. Don't we all seek it? The absolute? Something that is nothing? Perhaps, a state of uncommon bliss-- heavenly or otherwise?
Besides, the name is merely a question:
Is bliss truly worth the cost of which we ultimately give?
To that I say, of course... living blissfully with you is worth the world and beyond. Actually, being with you in anyway is worth much more.
:">
Goober... now I want chocolate.
I love you a million times more, my Enchanting Monkey Man.
Thanks for the add and the message! We writers have to stick together through the thick and the thin!
I see you're from Saskatchewan - weird. I had a TV project that was being optioned at the start of the year (a western) - they loved the idea but the project got pulled AS the contract landed on my matt, because they were filming several westerns back to back in Saskatchewan and mine required a railroad and steam train... which is something you guys don't have!
Massive thanks if you were one of the friends who voted for me. Boy A, my first novel, has now made the short list of 10 for World Book Day’s ‘Book To Talk About 2008.’ I owe a lot to my friends.
Unfortunately all the novels starts the final from scratch, so I really need your support all over again.
Please take a minute to vote. It might very well be possible to win it now.
And you can still win stuff just by voting, as well as being kind and thus gaining an instant karma rebate.
