I come from a varied musical background and in my compositions I try to incorporate elements of classical, jazz, electronics, and ethno music, that represent my major influences.
I started playing piano and classical guitar at the age of 5. During my studies of Sociology I focused on the relationship between movies ad sociology. After my graduation in Sociology I resumed my classical studies of composition and orchestration.
My musical productions includes personal projects (listen some excerpt of my new CD on my website www.vincenzodambrosio.it), works for full orchestra and chamber music (mostly strings quartet).
I write orchestrations for my music using a traditional approach (with care for standard notation, respect of the correct instrument range). These pieces are mostly realized with a virtual orchestra, using hi-end professional libraries played by several computers: the effect is a realistic final sound.
As a visual artist I try to develop my painting activity capturing details hard to achieve, using a wide range of paintings techniques from acrylics to pastels.
In my opinion music and visual always walk side by side..i simply switch from one to another.
