“Guilt shows no mercy!”
Vindication is a a disturbing and chilling coming of age horror story. Though Vindication has lots of severed arteries, Bart Mastronardi’s feature film debut focuses more on the troubles of its protagonist, Nicolas Bertram, a young man who has trouble finding himself in the world. After a failed suicide attempt, Nicolas’ world is shattered, his reality no longer logical. A twisted and disturbing journey of Nicolas’ discovery of his true self leads to horrific consequences. Vindication is a stunningly visual and dramatic piece of horror filmmaking taking notes from classic motion pictures and is influenced by Greek mythology, tragedy plays, Shakespeare, Dante’s Inferno and other classic forms of literature. Vindication prides itself as being an independent movie within the horror genre.
Short and sweet: Vindication is dark and disturbing. The film is executed beautifully on every technical level. Score, lighting, camerawork, editing, writing, and directing were all above par. The acting is on the mark. This is true horror cinema and no gimmicky hollywood remakes will ever match a film with a story this dark and disturbing! This film invokes the "holy fuck" response. "For Christ's Sake" currently in production in Sarasota, Florida and everyone involved is extremely excited. We have horror movie icon Debbie Rochon in our female lead rising star Jesse Kozel as the clone of "Jesus Christ" and cameos by Joel D. Wynkoop and filmmaker Jason Liqouri!! This movie promises to be completely unlike all the other low budget scare fare that's choking that market as our film will contain a main cast of characters that are both straight and gay with no stereotypes. Also, the subject matter is extremely controversial. Plus to top it all off, we have a lead villian that, I promise you, is unlike anything you've ever seen before in the horror genre.
