About me:
Vindication is a Horde faction guild for World of Warcraft on the Shattered Hand realm. Our guild was started by Suddendeth and built by Polycrates with lots of help from many, many people. Built with help from folks from several old guilds that had died, namely Gank Express, Hunters for Jezus, Azeroth Mafia, and Da Ninja, Vindication was started at a time when level 60 was the top level in the game. Quickly growing to almost 500 guildees, Vindication enjoyed world-raids on alliance territory and spawned several videos still to be found on YouTube. We enjoyed guild-wide events such as Dueling Tournaments, World PvP raids, Video production and eventually raiding. In time we ran 3 concurrent Karazhan teams and 1 pug team. We moved on to do Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair raids weekly. Vindication was able to one-shot these raids weekly.
We merged with Speak Orcish or Die for a few months, and during that time progressed through Zul'Aman, Tempest Keep, Serpentshrine Caverns, and started progressing on Hyjal. We were able to finish the first boss (Rage) in Hyjal and also engaged in a few attempts at the first boss in Black Temple in coordination with another guild (Old Skool). Eventually guild drama instigated by an officer gutted the guild of most of the geared raiders, raiders that had been brought in and geared up in the guild, and the core group of Speak Orcish or Die took a break to wait for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion to be released.
Polycrates and others reformed Vindication and resumed raiding. With the release of Wrath of the Lich King announced, Shattered Hand underwent convulsions and changes, with many raiding guilds going inactive. Many folks were on but refuesed to raid. Others left guild because even competent, capable guilds were having trouble pulling together even weekly Karazhan runs. Finally, with the release of a patch, interest in raiding came back. Vindication finds itself in an especially ready state to resume raiding after the leveling from 70 to 80 is underway.
Polycrates finally retired in October 2008, after a very thorough search process to find just the right successor. Topi was selected, asked and graciously accepted the position of Guild Master of Vindication. A wise, seasoned veteran of Vindication, and of old world raiding, Topi is a competent, capable leader. His supportive, encouraging attitude, knowledge of the game, and behind-the-scenes work makes him the natural choice to lead Vindication into the future. Initial changes already made under Topi's leadership have taken Vindication far into areas we have not recently seen. The future looks full of promise.
