I am a guitarist. I have played and recorded with Dare, Asia, Ultravox, Ten, Burns Blue, Bob Catley, Hugo and many other sessions too over the years. Thought it was about time to set up a myspace page. So here it is :-)
Update September 2009
I have remixed Sicilian Kiss 2009 again. Sounds a lot smoother now and I think the drums sound much better. I really hate what Myspace upload does to the sound of the songs though. Uploading the songs here loses so much detail. Nothing I can do about that though. It's quick and convenient and lets you hear what I am up to at the moment.
Update September 2009
Just redone one of my instrumental songs called Sicilian Kiss. I played guitars, keyboards bass and drums on this and it was all done in my studio The Viper Room.
This is the first time I have played everything on a track and I wanted to see how my 70's Ludwig Vistalite drum kit recorded. It's the see through kit that John Bonham was famous for using except mine is blue. The snare was a Ludwig Black Beauty. Still needs a few tweaks and mixing properly.
The guitar sound is my main 78 Les Paul plugged straight into my original 1968 Marshall 50w small box plexi. It was mic'ed with an AKG 414 into a Focusrite ISA428 preamp. No EQ added. I think it sounds really nice.
Update August 2009
Now that the studio is fully functioning. I am now taking sessions online. You can contact me through myspace for info about fees etc.
Well, it's been ages since I last updated this page. Sorry, will try to keep on top of it more.
The studio is finally finished and all the gear is in and the equipment all wired up and working. I have been able to start working again and it's been great. I should get some new ideas uploaded and some updated songs too.
Things went great with Dare at Swedenrock. Was great playing with the guys again and the crowd were just amazing. Thanks Sweden for such a great time.
We also went to Spain at the end of 2008 for a handful of shows and again, it was a really good time. Gigs were great and so were the fans. Looking forward to getting back and seeing everyone who came to the shows again. Thanks you for a wonderful time.
Likewise. Working with Bob Catley again has been fantastic. We had an absolute ball on and off stage but I have to say the gigs themselves were magic. Never really done a full on acoustic tour before but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers to Bob, Annie and most of all to all the people who came to the shows for making them such a special occasion. Really hope we get to do this again.
Well, that's it for now. If you are interested in getting me to do some guitars on your recordings, message me on here and we will see what we can work out time and fee wise. Only serious enquiries from serious bands and singers please.
Update March 22nd 2008
As a lot of you will have now heard, I will be doing some gigs again with Dare. It's actually the 20th anniversary of the release of the debut album Out Of The Silence. Can't believe it's been that long.
Anyway, really looking forward to getting on stage with Darren, Richie, Kev and Marc to do these shows. Cheers for the invite guys :-) It's going to be great fun.
Also just uploaded a new demo called Guitarmasutra. Hope you like it.
I was playing this at the 2008 Muiskmesse in Frankfurt last week on the ENGL amplifier stand. Had a lot of fun doing it so thought I would get a version finished and put it up here.
If you want to see how to play it, there is a video below of an earlier version. You can basically see where and how it was played on that.
It was recorded with my chambered swamp ash Suhr guitar into a Dunlop Q-Zone pedal. It then went into my old 1979 Marshall 2203 amp and into a mid 80's JCM800 4x12. The mic used was a Sennheiser MD509 and the preamp was my Focusrite 428.
Hope you like it.
Here is our first Dare single Abandon. We flew all the way to LA for a week to do this as the director wanted warehouses and derelict buildings.......and we were all living in Oldham at the time haha. We kept quiet and dug our passports out. The girl in the video ended up in the cult tv show Twin Peaks.
Here is the Dare single Nothing Is Stronger Than Love. We did this at The Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park in (I think) December 1988. I redubbed the audio as A&M originally used a really bad audio edit for the video and unfortunately, they forgot to replace it with the actual single edit.
There are loads of lights on stage. Bon Jovi did Wembly Arena the night before and their lighting rig came straight to the Rainbow for our video. The crew also went up to Milton Keynes to pick up a truck full of empty Marshall cabs haha.
The video company were the same one who did all the Bon Jovi 'slippery when wet' era videos and also the def leppard videos from that time too.
Amyway, enjoy and sorry about the picture quality but it's the only digital version I have at the moment.
Here is The Raindance by Dare. We did this at the N.E.C in Birmingham.
This is us (Dare) miming on a Spanish TV show :-)
This is a Dare show we did at The Town & Country club in London in 1989 on the Out Of The Silence tour. We did the gig with It Bites and The River City People. Each bands sets were then shown separately in ITV.
This is another Dare song called We Don't Need A Reason. Can anyone hear a slight change in direction haha. We did this at Elstree film studios and me and Darren get to stand under a million fireworks. The people standing by with fire extinguishers didn't fill us with confidence!!
This is the very rare video we did for Real Love and the last video I did with Dare. As far as I know, this is the only one on the whole net. Hope you enjoy it.
Here is a photo montage to the instrumental The Journey off my solo album of the same name. These are just my tour photographs ad other stuff set to music.
Cheers my friend. Just passing to wish you a great 2010. Sharing a cold one with your friends is some of the most fun you can have with you pants on !!! "Fear no beer", even better new year and always, Rock Hard... Timo kaarkoski - Temple of Sin
hey, just stopping by to say hi - hope you're enjoying 2010 so far!
I've got my new single up 'Feel Good' - just the thing to settle into the new year. Magazine reviews are comparing my debut album as a cross between John Mayer and Gavin Degraw.
Just spreading some love your way. PS: the song Feel Good, should make you feel good! Kevin

We used to be called "Mumrik" that was looking for a singer and now we finally found a singer and the band name became STM since we are working together at a distance of 6000miles from Leeds, UK to Kyoto, Japan. We have uploaded 3 songs now. Check out how it works.
