About me: Vitae Design Collective is co-operatively run by five area designers. The shop showcases local clothing and jewelry designers who create one-of-a-kind and limited run items. The house labels are Pink Revolver, rok:her:roots, Jae Anonyma, Acanthus, and Magpie. The store features many other independent lines as well. Drop us a line if you're interested in consigning with us! We also host a new Art installation every 3 months or so. Vitae is much more than a retail store. The group exists as a resource to the local design community and offers opportunities to participate in style shows, events, and workshops. The shop also provides a creative environment that encourages collaboration among artists. Vitae annually produces the popular Runway Revue style show in conjunction with Iowa Fashion Week. Events promote networking among artists, retailers, stylists, DJs, models, photographers, and all those with an interest in fashion. We are eager to further establish Des Moines’ exciting indie cultural scene. No kidding!!

Metro Arts is now accepting applications for Two Rivers Expo, the November arts festival held at Hy-Vee Hall in downtown Des Moines. 150 artists will be accepted in 13 categories: 2D mixed media, 3D mixed media, ceramics, drawing, glass, fiber, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood.
You can apply by visiting Zapplication.org, finding Metro Arts Two Rivers Expo under "Participating Shows" and creating a profile. The application fee is $35, and all applications must be received by May 15.
