Vinx was severely burnt by the fire. He overcame his injuries and three years later made the world's second longest leap in the triple jump. This qualified Vinx for the ..1980 Moscow Olympics... Vinx and ..The Crawdaddys.. teamed up to record a CD for ..The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children... They raised over $60,000 for the effort. Over 40% of people who are homeless are children. About Troubadours Gathering Festival The Troubadours’ Gathering . . . Calling all troubadours, songwriters, musicians, producers, artistic souls, road trippers, fans, campers and lovers of lyric … On November 8, International Recording Artist/Producer VINX will host his own music festival in the Deep South, at the Ocmulgee State Park Amphitheater, just outside of the sleepy, down-home town of McRae Georgia. You are invited to take part in an extraordinary three part musical experience. PART 1 Friday nite crawl , roam door to door in McRae's historic district sample different artist sharing the magic. be prepared to buy CD's PART 2 Saturday November 7, 2009, from 12 noon-sunset, on the main stage. The Troubadour Gathering will feature some of the top songsmiths in the country. The Saturday concert fee at the Park is a $30 donation to the Songwriters Soul Kitchen Retreat. In-between shows we will feature drummers to keep your hearts beating throughout the program. PART 3 After sundown, you are invited to mingle with the featured artists during the after gathering. From 8pm, the PART 2 Gathering will feature a selection of eclectic acoustic artists performing in different rooms in the 1906 classic antebellum home of Troubadour number one, VINX. Each artist will perform several short 15-minute sets. This gives you the opportunity to bounce around the house, room to room and sample many different performers in a unique, up-close fireplace environment. Vinx’s antebellum country home is just 2 miles down the road from the state Park in McRae, Georgia. DJ Vando will do his thing, so we may even dance……. (until the police come). There will be an additional donation for the Part 3 after party if you choose to stay. So far we have an amazing program: Eric Roberson, Mitchell Long, Doria Roberts, Julie Dexter, Darnell Levine, Heston, Kipper Jones, Chiedza, Nadirah Shakoor, Tubby Love, Yen, Maritri, Billy Kent, Chanda Leigh, cleveland Jones, Vince Snead and other special guests. We are still accepting artists, hand drummers, sponsors, videographers, photographers, volunteers, poets, spoken word artists, artisans and of course new acoustic singer-songwriters.
