DJ J13's Interests
Music
I enjoy and appreciate almost any genre of music, but electronic is first and foremost (trance especially). Ever since I first heard a synthesizer (probably A-HA's "Take on Me") in the 80's I have loved it. I just never really caught onto it until '94 thanks to Kimball Collins' United DJ's of America cassette tape and BOOM. I played guitar for about 8 years(ages 12-20), then sold all my equipment to buy 1 turntable and all the speakers, receiver and a mixer. One turntable is easy to learn on, but when you throw a second in there with no experience, it's quite a challenge. I have been spinning for 7 years now and mostly spin electro, house, progressive & trance.
Some of my all time favorite tracks are, BT-Godspeed/////Lost Tribe-Gamemaster/////Sneaker Pimps-Spin, Spin Sugar//////Paul van Dyk-For an Angel//////DJ Icey-The One/////Way Out West-The Gift////Ferry Corsten-Punk////Depeche Mode-Enjoy the Silence & Policy of Truth////A-ha-Take On Me////Massive Attack-Protection///Nine Inch Nails-Terrible Lie////Almost Any KORN Song.
Electronic music is an under exposed genre, but it is gaining ground slowly but surely again. So WATCH OUT dancfloors everywhere will be invaded!!!!!
Movies
My three favorites of all time are : Dazed and Confused, Friday and Half Baked. Some others I enjoy are All 3 Matrix movies, All 3 Indiana Jones, any Star Wars, High Tension, Kicking and Screaming, Saw 1 & 2, Kill Bill 1 & 2, too many more to name now.
About me: What's up everyone, my name is Jason and I am a certified chef and have been DJ'ing for 7 years at various clubs ,bars, and yes even a bowling alley.
Dancing and spinning electronic music are what I truly find joy in (no drugs 2 enjoy necessary). I still love rock and roll even though I listen to mostly electronic. There's nothing better than hearing a heavily distorted guitar rip through a power cord. Food is also huge love of mine as I have an associates degree in culinary arts and am originally from Lakeland and have also moved a lot.
Electronic music makes different cultures collaborate and also unifies everyone together in a positive way. Music and dance are a universal language and it's amazing the power they have. My radio show Euphoric Sound Sessions is on www.orbitalgrooves.com and features the best in house, electro, progressive and trance music and I have had guest mixes from Super8 & Tab, Suzy Solar, Thomas Bronzwaer, Mike Shiver, Perry Oneil, Tom Colontonio, Hydroid, John O'callaghan, Adam White, Andy Moor, Store N Forward, Andrew Bennett, Basic Perspective, Terry Bones, Randy Boyer and Bart Claessen. Hope everyone can tune in to it one day.
