Violation Complex are a four-piece, industrial death metal band from South London. When pushed to pin down their sound, they have been likened to a mix of the prog-metal of Mastodon, tech-metallers Meshuggah and the intensity of Strapping Young Lad. Forged from the ashes of well-known local bands Artisian and Head Clamp in late 2006, Violation Complex have played numerous gigs around London and Kent including the Bar-Fly, Camden and The Fox and Firkin, Lewisham to name a few. Violation Complex have achieved numerous awards for their individuality and unique sound.
Recent achievements include, online, international success with Best Track of the Day, Vocals, Guitars and Bass of the week on GarageBand.com, a site that has been a launch pad for numerous artists including Canadian industrial metallers Threat Signal amongst others. Local successes for Violation Complex include reaching the final of the Darbex Battle of the Bands competition, winning the audience vote and coming in the top 10 out of more than 100 other artists, increasing an ever-growing fanbase. The band have also recently featured on two professional compilation releases and boast airplay on the popular BBC Kent unsigned show. In the summer of 2008, Violation Complex performed alongside Scottish thrash quartet 'MAN MUST DIE' - the only British band signed to the renowned Relapse Records.
Looking to the future, Violation Complex are continually striving to reach the next level and push the boundaries of metal, despite the shackles that constrain so many others. Prepare to be Violated...
"Violation Complex have quickly made a name for themselves with their Mastodon-come-Opeth sound and rightly so. Each member impressed but it was their collective sound which really laid down the challenge to the other semi finalists. Their complex rhythms, melodic and death metal vocals helped take each song in multiple directions without losing the listeners' interest." "...they filled the venue with their sound, drowning out any idle conversation taking place - meaning you watched on their terms. Drinks and chit chat could wait until after. A solid set which would not have been out of place at a certain metal festival [Bloodstock]..... (8/10) " - Rock Matrix, Semi Final Battle of the Bands Review
A COMPLEX STORY....
Case number: 9956823dc
Not much is known about the Violation Complex itself…
Some believe it is a maximum security insane asylum, some believe that it is a military human testing facility, testing the inner-workings of the human mind; whilst others believe that its a place where the most evil of souls that even Hell will not hold captive are sent to. More still believe it is nothing more than an urban legend.
Few people claim to have seen the Complex, even fewer claim to have been inside its walls and to have seen the horrors that occur within with their own eyes; although these claims have never been proven.
The legend says that once within the Complex there is no escape: a place so dark and disturbing that even the power of the sun could not enlighten the halls within. The Violation Complex still remains an urban legend, unproven but not forgotten…

We want you guys to help pick the 3 songs to go on our new E.P.
Brave or what!!
Normally we would chose ourselves but we always pick the newest ones or our favs and haven't made great choices in the past so we though we'd let you do better.
So what we've done is record a 'live' jam at our friends studio, complete with mistakes etc and want you to tell us which ones are best.
Not which ones you think we played the best, but which ones you liked the best, then after a month or so we will bugger off with your results to a studio and put tons of cash and effort into making a cracking CD.
All 7 tracks are now up, so get your listening ears on(?) and get voting :)
