I'm Alicia Rodríguez, a music journalist from Barcelona. Im 31 and, and compare to my 30's now I really feel I belong to the adult word, but fantasy and dreams will always be with me, no matter how old I am. This 2008 my life seems to be quite different to 2007, I got a cat and a new flatmate, new job projects and almost a completely new life..I like changes:)
I'm here mainly cause I love music! Music have given me my best friends, my best moments and a good job too! Before I started working as a journalist I spent three years, almost 4, in a great record label, Houston Party Records, you must check it out : www.houstonpartyrecords.com I worked there as a promoter for many bands, some of them appear on my friends list, of course:) I also have been working in some music festivals here in Barcelona, as Primavera Sound or Isladencanta in Mallorca. Its a funny thing to do: picking up people at airports, taking care of them before and after they play...sounds cool but it isnt always as cool as people think, depends on the bands, thats for sure.
I lived in Oslo, Norway, that cold and beautiful country, and there I did many surrealistic things, that's for sure, the most normal ones were to work as a baby sitter or as a Spanish teacher...and yes, I learnt Norwegian (er du norsk? hvis du er norsk bare skrive me, jeg trenger a snakker det, jeg kan ikke glemme min norsk!)
What else? I cannot stop doing stuff, so I started to study also this year, but of course! a music doctorate. I dont really have time the weekends cause I like to go out a lot...to concerts or clubs, where if not??? Im writing a thesis...it sounds really professional but Im not!:) lets see what happens...its about punk rock in a sociocultural point of view and connected to postmodernism ideas, and blah blah blah... BY THE WAY, if you love punk as much as me, just because you listen to it, go to gigs, have a band, a record label or are as crazy as me to study about it, I would be so happy if you can collaborate with my thesis:) Im doing a doctorhip... so just drop some lines telling me what does "punk" means to you... it's an open question...of course if you are in touch with more people studying it you can just put them in touch with me, that can be great:) I will mention on my thesis all the people that have collaborated on this with me, that's for sure...and, If one day I get famous you will appear on my book:)hehhehe just kidding:) So yes, I love punk but it's not the only music I love to listen to, thats for sure. You can find anything from many different styles in my desk...and at my parents desk, in their home, where I still keep many cds and book that I dont have space to have at my own flat!
Im a social person, yes, BUT!:) but I wont add you unless you give me a reason why I should, or at least send me and email and not just an add please!!
