After having studied piano and percussions at a parisian conservatory,
Violette started singing at the age of fifteen. Armed with a solid vocal technique gained by the study of the classical repertoire, she soon felt a need for a greater freedom of expression.
One year later, she fell under the spell of the Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong duo recordings, which awakened her taste for Jazz.
A chance encounter with pianist and artistic director Laurence Apithy would then mark a crucial turning point in Violette’s career, when she first started training as a professional artist. This privileged apprenticeship, spiritual as well as musical, encouraged her to explore the diversity of afro-american music. She soon formed her own band and started developping her own Jazz Soul infused sound while performing throughout french & european venues.
In 2007, after graduating in Liberal Arts and encouraged by renowned french violonist Didier Lockwood she decided to fully embrace her passion.
She thus moved to Boston to enroll the prestigious Berklee College of Music where she studied arranging, songwriting and performance.
She soon started writing and performing her own songs, and released her first album Innervoice in 2009.
Violette is currently living in the US, recording her 2nd opus while performing on both sides of the Atlantic. Past appearences include venues in Paris, Senegal, Boston, New York, St Marteen, Prague and Dubaï …
She took part in several Jazz Springboards such as Jazz a Vannes and Jazz a Crest
and performed for numerous festivals like Jazz a Sete, Violons Croises and Cambridge Make Music.
Violette had the pleasure to co-write and record The Dorian Island with Thomas ENHCO on his amazing debut Album Esquisses. Her resume also includes movie soundtracks & recordings for children.
Her compositions were rewarded by international prizes such as Les Vignes d’Or, Song of the Year, ISSA (Indie Singer Songwriter Association).
At the early age of 23, Violette sings thus her passion for the Afro-American music and culture. Her warm and inviting voice, tinged with the diverse influences of jazz, blues, soul & gospel, immerses you in the heart of a genuine emotional experience.

Son chant célèbre les grandes Divas du Jazz, (Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Rachelle Ferrel) mais reste sous l’influence constante du gospel de la soul (Stevie WONDER, Aretha FRANKLIN).
Violette se produit regulierement sous diverses formations,
notemment en France (Sunside, Le Baiser Salé, Les 7 Lézards, le Café Universel, l’Osmoz Café), au Sénégal, à Boston, St Martin, Prague et Dubaï (Arabian Court).
Elle a participé aux tremplins 2006 des Festivals Jazz a Vannes et Jazz a Crest, et signe la meme annee les paroles de « Dorian Island », qu’elle interprète sur le disque Esquisses (AMES/Harmonia Mundi) du jeune pianiste prodige Thomas ENHCO.

Violette, NO amount of reasoning, problem solving, soul searching or analyzing can explain why WE [as Christians] go through what we go through in "Our" lifetime. Most often than not, ONLY a Word from God can and will make things clear and bring us "that Peace" (which passes ALL understanding) to our hearts and our minds. But here is the "Key"....The diligence with which we wait for "That Word" WILL DETERMINE WHAT WE HEAR. Because God is on His throne (Firmly in Control) and His purposes continue to unfold for our lives as He has planned. Who are we to INSTRUCT Him? How can we be so AUDACIOUS as to instruct Him on what He should do in our lives? Amen? "WE MUST" wait Silently before Him (you know...No Murmuring, No Complaining [smile]) in order to hear what He has to say NEXT. Why? Because His Word Is Our life. Amen somebody!
The bible says "[OH, I know, I have been rash to talk out plainly this way to God!] I will [in my thinking] stand upon my post of observation and station myself on the tower or fortress, and will watch to see what He will say within me and what answer I will make [as His mouthpiece] to the perplexities of my complaint against Him" (Hab.2:1 AMP). (MY ISSUES OF LIFE; WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH AT THIS PRESENT TIME. Hmmmm?

Violette, EXTERNAL circumstances [SHOULD NOT] be the determining factor when it comes to US experiencing "JOY" [here on planet Earth]. And in spite of the current state of affairs which are "Plaguing" this WORLD right now, our JOY [SHOULD STILL] be emanating from within........from our ABILITY which [SHOULD] be CENTERED around the relationship that we (as Christians) have with Father God (because we are CONTINUING to "Study to show ourselves approved onto Him, a workman who Most definitely NEEDS NOT to be ashamed)! Why? Because we have Holy Spirit who Leads, Guides, and Teaches.....who brings back to our remembrance ALL scripture that we have deposited in our hearts (with UNDERSTANDING}, so we can be "Doers of the Word, NOT Hearers ONLY, deceiving Ourselves", Amen? Amen?! A Spirit-filled life which IS characterized by experiencing UNWAVERING JOY which stems from this [often] OVERLOOKED "Fundamental" aspect of our Christianity.......the BASIC TRUTH that we (as Believers) HAVE....BEEN....FORGIVEN.... of Sin; We [ARE] in the Family of God AND have a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ..........THAT ARE NAMES ARE FOUND IN THE LAMBS "BOOK OF LIFE"! Amen somebody!!!!
The Bible says "But at midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everybody's shackles were unfastened". (Acts 16:25-26 Amp.) Are your shackles unfastened? Hmmm??!?

MyHotCommentsViolette, Trials and Tribulations will either make us More Holy, or More Sinful depending [GREATLY] on our Relationship to God/with God, Amen? Because when testings come (and they WILL come "IF" you are Walking right), WE will either TRUST God's purposes and FIND Peace, OR "we" can Trust in our OWN plans, start walking in the "Vanity of our mind", thereby developing a NEGATIVE OUTLOOK or DISPOSITION and thus DEVELOPING A BITTER, and CYNICAL heart. We may NOT like our situation (and in MOST cases "we" WON'T), BUT, because WE "Are CHRISTIANS"; because we are a "Chosen Generation; because we are a Royal Priesthood; because we are a Holy Nation and a Peculiar People"...WE... "SHOULD"... LOVE...GOD and WE...MUST...TRUST..."HIS"...WILL FOR OUR LIVES!
The Bible says "And going a little further, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me, nevertheless, not what I will [not what I desire], but as You will and desire" (Matt.26:39 AMP).
The Bible also says "For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome" (Jer.29:11 AMP). Is that where the phrase "Trusting God's Purposes" came from......Hmmm?!!?
