Paul Chain Birth Name Paolo Catena , played guitar in the Italian Avant Garde metal band Death SS. With Chain, Death SS released Four 7 ich EP's "Zombie" & "The Night Of The Witch" in 1982 , "Profanation" & "Evil Metal" In 1983. On"Evil Metal" Paul Plays also Keys and sings in the lengedary track "Schizoprenic Dad" (On The Other Two Tracks Vocals Made by Sanctis Goram due to the departure of Steve Sylvester the Previous And later trademark singer of Death SS.These recordings have been collected and released on The Story of Death SS (1977-1984) and The Horned God of Witches. Death SS split in 1984 (to reform in 1989 without paul chain , and with slightly a different musical direction) and Chain formed his solo group, Paul Chain Violet Theatre. This outfit consisted of Chain on guitar, vocals, & keyboards and featured many other musicians. In 1989 this would morph into Paul Chain (sometimes referred to as "Paul Chain (logo)" due to a distinct font in which Paul Chain was written). He has also released albums under the name Paul Chain - The Improvisor and Paul Chain - Experimental Information. He has worked with Lee Dorrian (Cathedral) and with Wino (The Obsessed ,St Vitus , Place Of Skulls , Hidden Hand) Paul chain is also the producer of many albums by italian underground artists. Of course the languge used by Paul Chain ,dont exists ... it's purely phonetic.Paul Chain , for many fans is considered the the Doom metal Master mind, in his carier took a musical travel from Slow doom metal , to psychedelic organ and ambient synth's sounds.
