..Violet was born on the East Coast to theatrical parents and was raised in the equally-theatrical Los Angeles area. Playing piano and singing from the time she was six years old, Violet began composing her own music at the age of nine. As a teen, friends told Violet that, while beautiful and creative, her style of music — what they termed "art" — would never be popular or sell. Much to her regret, she believed them until she met several musicians who were doing the sort of thing she'd been told "couldn't be done." Those people include Jarrod Gosling of the band I Monster, Kevin Pearce, Emily Bezar, Tori Amos, Amy X. Neuburg, and Zoe Keating... ..In her day-to-day life, Violet is a webhost and Internet publisher. Sites she personally owns include Undented.com and Loopers-Delight.com... ..
