Viomak is a Zimbabwean protest musician who sings against bad governance. She drags listeners back to reality when her lyrics turn from the tribulations of love to those of a country speeding even further along the road to repression.Though Viomak is one of the country's popular protest musicians, she is living out of the country. Her music can be obtained from hideout areas in Zimbabwe and on her website . Record sales companies have refused to accept her music. This protest music is banned from the airwaves of state-owned media.Viomak is as skittish as opposition activists and journalists, who are being harassed and arrested under laws designed to quell discontent.
What also makes Viomak a household name in Zimbabwe is that she backed herself on the five albums released so far.Viomak has shifted from the usual style of protest music by the likes of Zimbabwean chimurenga guru Dr Thomas Mapfumo and a few others who sing in riddles against Robert Mugabe's governance. She sings direct and mentions Mugabe's name in her lyrics .She calls her music political gospel, a genre no other Zimbabwean musician has dealt with.

Hey, I've got a new acoustic demo up of my song "Snapshot Chronicles" up now. Feel free to listen, comment, and if you like it tell your friends. If not, that's cool too.
Hey, I'm going on tour this summer and was wondering if you could possibly help me book a show in your area. Such as venues or clubs in your area. Just trying to get it all set up now.
You've changed your photo! We used to be national neighbours. We are both away from home. Are you still on African soil? I miss it terribly, in my soul and feet? Do you get news of home? I do think that what is true and right will win there, even through the suffering and what is true and right is complicated these days. Even the darkest route is sometimes the way to go to put things right. I'm also at /samaireabandnoelle. Khotso!
