VIPER RECORDINGS ARTIST PODCASTS:
Since being founded by Futurebound and Jaquan in 2003, Liverpool's Viper Recordings has steadily established itself as one of the classiest and most consistent Drum and Bass labels around. The very first single- Futurebound and Jaquan's 'Blind Cobbler's Thumb'- won massive support from the likes of Andy C, Adam F, Hype and many more, and set the threshold for all that was to come. This was followed by releases from established acts such J Majik and Wickaman, Baron and Moving Fusion, as well as material from newer producers such Probe and Sylo, Entity and State Of Mind. More recently the label has attracted a wealth of young, up-and-coming producers such as The Brookes Brothers, T-Phonic, Sigma and Australia's ShockOne.
Spring 2007 saw the release Viper's first Long Player, the incredible Universal Truth album by Futurebound and Matrix. Believed by most to be the best D & B album of the year, it features the massive singles 'Kniteriderz', 'Family' (featuring the incredible vocals of Robert Owens), 'The Edge', 'Coast 2 Coast' (with Louis Smith), and of course the VIP mix of their earth-shattering anthem 'American Beauty'. Described by Pete Tong as "the biggest thing in the drum and bass arena" and by Knowledge Magazine as "a stark lesson in how to do things properly", this album is quite simply essential.
Following the album, Viper has put out a string of releases kicking off in September with the incredible 'Don't You Know', produced by Australian whizzkid ShockOne and featuring the powerful vocals of Elisha King. This was followed in October by 'Hi-Top' and 'Dawn Alarm', two wicked tracks by UK artists Sigma.
