Did David Lowery and Camper Van Beethoven revert to old ways and add a little musical intestinal fortitude (cf: the plodding of "Heatwaves")? Is Husker Du back with a vengeance (cf. "Collages")? Mix both of these bands with the Misfits, subtract the former two's vocals and 2/3 of Glenn Danzig, say "Now we're talking" and crack open a cold one.
"Spectral Fog" brings the spatial expanse of Galaxie 500 and early Meat Puppets into play, but adds, well, fuzz. And loud fuzz at that.
"Violent Instincts," is how I learned to love the Misfits if Lou Reed sang for them. "My Baby Dreams About Iggy Pop" sounds like the title, a little bouncy, but the distortion reigns.
