Hello friends/family/film people,
You are invited to the first public screening of a locally produced feature length movie, The Vampires of Zanzibar!
The screening is taking place at a new night club on the edge of Roanoke County/Boones Mill called "Southside 220"
(featured on the front page of the Roanoke Times not long ago).
ADDRESS: Southside 220, 7963 Franklin Rd., Boones Mill, VA, 24065
DATE and TIME: April 18th, Saturday night, 8PM (movie starts at 9PM).
DIRECTIONS: from downtown Roanoke, take rte. 581/ rte. 220 (away from highway 81) towards Boones Mill. Pass Walmart on your left. When
you pass Ancient Art Tattoo on your right, go 6 more miles, and it is a big club on the right side of the road with a big sign that reads "Tattoo",
you can't miss it.
My friend and one of the stars of the movie, Royce Hobson,
owns the tattoo shop upstairs called Black Label Tattoos. Me, him and other cast members will be at the screening to talk
about the making of the movie and answer questions after the movie. Please spread the word to anyone who might want to go, as I have
misplaced a lot of the actors/crew contact lists.
I, personally, have spent about one full time year working on this movie night and day, and over 150 cast and crew
were involved from Virginia (over 100 alone from Southwest VA), Sweden, Iceland, NY, Florida, L.A., West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio to name a few.
They all came to Roanoke, VA (called "Zanzibar, VA" in the movie) in the summer of 2007 to film this feature length movie,
and the movie is FINALLY COMPLETE.
The cover fee is $9 (you get $1 back if you fill out a feedback form on the movie), and you get a lot!...
Free home made food at a buffet table, both vegan and with meat. There will be an opening band going on at 8PM, doors open at 7PM.
The movie itself starts at 9PM, followed by a question/answer session with some of the cast/filmmakers. And finally,
You are invited to The Vampires of Zanzibar First Screening. NEXT SUNDAY, MARCH 1, in Roanoke, VA!!!
This is at Royce Hobson's new night club/tattoo shop (Royce is one of the stars of The Vampires of Zanzibar). There will be two live bands playing around the screening. Admission I think will be $5, not sure yet, I will update this tonight when I can call Royce to verify... but it is a definite, March 1, Sunday, I am renting a big projecotr and we are bringing in a lot of chairs to seat maybe 200 people or so. (If you are out of town, take interstate 81, then you go onto route 581 into Roanoke. Or if you in Roanoke, go like you are leaving Roanoke, towards Boones Mill on 581 or Route 221 I think it becomes, like you are going toward Smith Mt. Lake... go 6 miles past Ancient Art Tattoo shop and it is on your right, a night club and I think it still has a really, really big sign that reads "Tattoo," you can't miss it. It is before you get to Boones Mill on your right.
So, yeah, first screening of The Vampires of Zanzibar, and you are invited. Not sure when it starts, maybe 3PM, maybe 6PM, but I will update my bulletin tonight or tommorrow morning as soon as I find out...
If you are interested in attending, please write me, seriously. I'd love to have you, thanks so much.

The Virginia Production Alliance presents "FILM DAY" at the State Capitol Thursday, January 29
From 8 am - 3 pm, Thursday, January 29, the Virginia Production Alliance will host the sixth annual Film Day at the General Assembly Building on Capitol Hill in Richmond. This is your best opportunity to show your support for legislation benefiting Virginia's media production industry.
WHAT IS FILM DAY?
Film Day is a rally on behalf of our industry, where those involved in all aspects of media production will gather to educate the legislature about film production in Virginia. This will include meeting with lawmakers and their staffs and telling them what the industry means to you.
WHAT IF YOU'VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE?
That's the great thing about Film Day. There will be plenty of people on hand to show you how to approach the lawmakers and provide you with the information you need to effectively inform them about what film legislation will mean to you and to the industry in Virginia.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Film Day will be at the General Assembly Building (also know as the GAB) on Capitol Square on the southeast corner of 9th and Broad Streets. You will enter the building on the Capitol side, go through security and turn right until you find the Film Day table. There you will receive information and be shown where you need to go. If you're more comfortable meeting with lawmakers in a group, that will be arranged. You won't need to be there the entire time but can plan on staying approximately 2 hours. Although you're welcome to come any time that is convenient, it is easier to see your lawmakers if you arrive in the morning.
LOGISTICS
Parking in downtown Richmond during the General Assembly session is available but extremely limited. You are welcome to use a shuttle provided by the Virginia Production Alliance that will run from a parking lot near The Diamond at Boulevard and Robin Hood Road to the Cap

ONE LION at LIONHEART FILMWORKS! For Immediate Release: December 24, 2008
Richmond, Virginia – Christmas came early for CEO of Lionheart Filmworks Kevin R. Hershberger who is now the sole owner of the motion picture company operating in the Virginia area! His former Michigan partners Curtis Hall and DJ Perry co-starred and produced the Civil War movie “Wicked Spring” with Hershberger directing. That movie was the first and last feature the three collaborated upon. Creative differences and geographic location of the partnership were cited as factor.
It was decided earlier this year that a legal division between the parties was desired. The separation deal centered on “Wicked Spring” the only project that Lionheart Filmworks officially had holding in. Director Hershberger started producing product bearing the Lionheart Filmworks name without full approval of the company as a whole. It was Mr. Hershberger’s desire to produce and distribute other products under the established Lionheart Filmworks company name.
Mr. Perry and Mr. Hall unable to participate in any day-to-day business decided it would be best to depart from the company so that progress could be made. In the deal Perry and Hall took over full ownership in “Wicked Spring LLC” that Lionheart Filmworks and Kevin R. Hershberger had held in return Mr. Hershberger was granted their full holdings in Lionheart Filmworks. This united the company 100% under Mr. Hershberger. One Lion!
