About me:

Virginia Rao has firmly established herself as a respected singer, songwriter and musician. She has fronted several bands during her career usually playing either bass or keyboard while delivering her exquisite, heartfelt prose in song. Virginia's style can be characterized as Adult-Contemporary with a slight Alternative Country flavor. Her vocal delivery is silky smooth and uniquely provocative. It is unintentionally sensual to a degree and yet honestly innocent at the same time. Her cool demure and shy demeanor belie the sultry passion of her prose. Virginia is an audience picked favorite in adult contemporary with abcnews.com. She is also recognized as a local favorite around her home turf on Long Island, NY. It was inevitable that news of Virginia would escape the guarded shores of Long Island and attract the curiosity of country music impresarios in the southern latitudes. In 2006 she was invited to record her work on Nashville's legendary "Music Row" with recognized professionals. Those recordings are now being featured on a compilation disc released by "Wild Oats Records". Currently her music is being played on Satellite Radio, College Radio, and is in regular rotation on European Radio.
