Virginwool was born in the early 90's near Orlando, FL when Rollins College students Gar Willard and Jordan Pouzzner put together an acoustic act known as Gumwrapper Curb. In 1995 Adam Loewy and a drummer joined the act. The band became part of the Florida scene and shared the stage with other Florida acts such as Matchbox 20, Creed, Sister Hazel, and 7 Mary 3. In 1996 they released a debut four song CD. In 1997 the band's EP "Women" was released, and began getting radio play on WJRR out of Orlando, thanks to the song "You're the Girl."
The band signed a major label deal with Breaking/Atlantic and Brett Cook joined the band on drums. They changed their name to Virginwool, which is the name of the first song on "Women" and was later on the band's major label debut "Open Heart Surgery" as "Picked Apart." The album featured the singles "I Think Her Mother Loves Me" and "Better for You," and the band toured the country with Hootie & The Blowfish.
However, the band went their own ways and never released another album. The band members worked on various musical projects on their own. Sadly, Jordan Pouzzner passed away in 2005. We will be using this site to allow fans of the band to get back together and share memories, as well as get out material that you have never heard before. Spread the word and keep the music alive.
Thanks again for everyone posting. We're going to switch out some of the songs and hopefully, change things up a little here soon. We appreciate everyone visiting and please feel free to download and share the music.

Today I decided to visit my local Nextel dealer for new ringtones. Are they licensed sound clips? I would venture to say no but that's beside the point. So, I'm browsing the selection of rock tracks and found "You're the Girl". The GWC version. Made my day :)
