Die Band hat seit ihrer Gründung im 2006 vierzig Konzerte gespielt und einige Zeitungsartikel gesammelt. Beim Indielabel NSS Records unterschrieb sie einen Plattenvertrag und konnte so ihr Debutalbum "Sorry for That" produzieren, welches Anfags Dezember 2010 erscheint.
Warum "Sorry for That"? Auf dem Namen kam die Band, als sie einmal mehr über schlechte Kritiken zu ihrer Musik redete. Jemand meinte "Man kanns auch nicht jedem recht machen... aber egal!" während der andere weiterdachte "die Schweizer sind eh zu sehr auf Qualität aus... wo bleiben die Gefühle... der Spass?". Melancholische Stimmung kam auf und so entschied sich Virus Of The Cactus, die Leute vor dem Kauf der CD zu warnen. Wir entschuldigen uns sozusagen bereits im Voraus. Aber warum? Weil wir nicht normal sind. Zumindest noch nicht. Wir haben weder viel Zeit in Studio verbracht, noch Fehler aus den Aufnahmen korrigiert geschweige denn die Aufnahmen mit weiteren Instrumenten und Ideen ergänzt. Das Debutalbum soll roh, direkt und ungekünstelt klingen. Nichts für Perfektionisten, aber vielleicht erweckt sie beim ein oder anderen Gefühle.
Virus of the Cactus wurde durch Chris Bluemoon (Gesang und Bass) und Mary Wolfskin (Gitarre und Gesang) gegründet. Von Anfang an stehen nicht nur die Musik, sondern auch die Freundschaften und Erlebnisse im Vordergrund. Die Mitglieder kommen aus unterschiedlichen Musiksparten, und entwickeln so ihren "eigenen Stil", welcher sich je nach Lust und Laune mal Rockiger, mal Poppiger zeigt.
