After a long absence away from the music industry, VISAGE mark II are about to make a welcome return. Pioneers of the new romantic movement, spearheading bands such as SPANDAU BALLET, DURAN DURAN, DEPECHE MODE, SOFT CELL, etc. VISAGE emerged in early 1979. All the above mentioned played at the very original, innovative night club Blitz where Steve Strange became a very glamorous, yet very strict doorman and Steve`s musician partner Rusty Egan was DJ.
As the new romantic movement was vastly growing in size, Steve was not idle in the music scene as he once sang lead vocals in a power-pop-band THE PHOTONS. He seemed the obvious choice as the lead singer when MIDGE URE and RUSTY EGAN split from THE RICH KIDS, therefore asking Steve to embark on a new music project later to be named VISAGE. After a slow start and a very luke warm reception, their first single release named TAR did not do very well but is now a collective classic.
When the group signed a worldwide deal with POLYDOR let`s just say the rest is history with a classic hit "Fade to grey" topping the charts in 13 countries, followed over the years by a further 8 TOP 20 hits.
2005 sees the return of VISAGE joining forces with the electro-breakbeat-act SEIZE - Sandrine Gouriou & Steven Young on synths & backing vocals, the talents of Rosie Harris on bass and backing vocals and guitar wizard, Ross Tregenza. The new line-up are currently locked in the recording studio, working on new songs with a gutsy, harder edge, as well as working on more modern versions of VISAGE classics. Now in 2007, Steve is co-writing with original old school visage pioneer Dave Formula and the sharp electropop of new school Visage member Ross Tregenza. The mix of all the minds is truly explosive! Also watch out for Steve on Children in Need charity program CELEBRITY SCISSORHANDS on the UK's BBC THREE
Steve Strange & Visage Mk II's Friend Space (Top 18)
After their great debut release "Fantasia Meccanica", the italian act HIDDEN PLACE return with an all new and long-expected album! "PUNTO LUCE" continues along the same pathtraced by its predecessor. Deep sonorities are alternated with moments of emotionalism and refinement, underlined above all by more atmospheric sounds, that constantly influence this album. Harmonious female vocals from the beautiful singer Sara Lux are opposed with the cold tones of the vocoder. An elegant mix of electro and new wave give a precise evocation of art, of the painting of a picture, of the beauty of colours and light.
The album also features vocal and mixing contributions from Gaby Nekro of NEKRODAMUS.
