    If you pray to get good grades in school, and to make the basketball team.
    As far as, what you are praying for. As it said in Luke 17:33 Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. What does it means? What is God asking for?
    As in said in Matt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. After you do that. You'll know what to pray for.
    As it said in proverbs 27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproaches me. So what does it mean to be wise when we pray to the lord when we want something?
    As it said in matt 6:25-34 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
    What does that all mean?
    Galatians 6 says:
    7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
    8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
    9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
