What's It All About?
Though the songs vary and the topics are diverse, the ultimate message behind my music is that we are not alone. Despite the tragedies, failures and ugliness of life, there is still someone upstairs who sees and cares about each one of us. I am firmly persuaded that God exist, that He created us, and that He cares so deeply for you and I that He sent a man named Jesus centuries ago to die and rise again, to change our lives TODAY. And that sacrifice can be relevant to every person who has ever lived, regardless of race, gender, lifestyle or religion. That means that we can all find hope, purpose, and a future despite the pain and senselessness life can bring. And that is VERY GOOD news. You are not alone. You never have been, and you never will be. Found below are a few links that can dig deeper into this Good News that has profoundly changed my life. Enjoy the music, and be encouraged that the Lord above is with us and is always ready to help if we would only look to Him and trust.

With a background in percussion, piano, guitar and classical voice, Gary is an independent musician frustrated with the low quality and decaying morality of popular music. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Gary is a seasoned professional, having played and collaborated with many local artists and toured the country spreading his passion for music, most notably while drumming for the folk rock/hip hop/reggae soul band "Bus," alongside now "Avett Brothers" member Joe Kwon. His originals blend melodic elements of rock/blues with the groove centered feel of soul and funk, together with thoughtful inspirational lyrics, into a style all his own.

So... Kids at my school know that I play the guitar. Several of them have said they've seen me playing at Southpoint. I've never played at Southpoint. True story.
I enjoyed your ministry in song yesterday in NC... that was a beautiful experience and I hope God continues to bless you by giving you favor with Him and man.
it was good running into you today. sounding great as usual. i'm sure we'll keep running into each other, and I may run a few ideas by you as i'm trying to figure out what to do with my life (musically, that is) for the summer.
I've been trying to, man... 1-3 open mics a week, and I've started doing some coffee shop shows. I'm trying to get a cd finished... been stuck on 5 songs for the longest time... Hopefully I can knock a couple more out tomorrow. Where do you play when you play at southpoint?
