Well I guess you don't have to be Captain Obvious to figure this out....
Besides my family, of course, animals and the paranormal would be up there in the top 10. I am fascinated with Anthropology of all kinds, cultural, forensic, primatology, archaeology. Reading and learning about other cultures and traditions is amazing. I collect Zuni fetishes and Mayan art/jewelry.
I also love to draw and create all kinds of art.
Animal rehabilitation is something I love to do as well. It is a great feeling to have a part in helping and healing the animals. I am currently researching the possibility of starting a rehab/rescue center for parrots, and working in conjunction with other excellent parrot and wildlife conservation and rehab foundations. Please visit the Alex Foundation at the link below to learn about the wonderful, late Alex the Grey, and all he has done to educate us about our psittacine friends.
Music
Hmmmm, I like almost everything but country....Kanye West, Usher, LL Cool J, Missy Elliot, Audioslave, Chili Peppers, Sublime, Jet, Staind, Godsmack, some metal, cheesy 80's music, Old School Rap and Hip Hop, new age, classical.

Heroes
My husband, because he is the most upbeat, smartest, coolest, funniest guy I ever met.
My animals, because they are so forgiving of people, even though most of them were treated terribly before they came to live with us.
My kids, because they are always teaching me not to be so worried about stupid-ass stuff.
The late Steve Irwin, who made wildlife conservation cool and interesting to kids and adults alike. He will be greatly missed.
About me: I am Lisa D. Some of you might know me as "Sarcasmo", or "Exotics Lisa", or "Lisa Leatherpants" (thanks Tucker LOL) and my boss Hank calls me "Pasqualita" (don't ask).
I am married to a great guy who puts up with my crap, and we have 2 kids. I grew up around my maternal Armenian relatives, who taught me not to take anyone's bull. My dad's side is Sicilian-- quite an interesting and volatile combination!
I am a certified veterinary technician and I have been in the field for almost 19 years. I am a member of the Rhode Island Veterinary Technicians Association (RIVTA), and the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV).
I work in a state of the art , 24 hour specialist veterinary hospital. I am fortunate enough to work with some of the very best people in the field. We care for all kinds of animals, from dogs and cats, to birds, ferrets, rodents, reptiles, you name it. One of the occupational hazards of this, is that I end up taking many animals home. Needless to say I am preparing to build the freakin' ark anytime now. I am hoping to start a rescue and rehabilitation for parrots in the near future. It's just a matter of getting funding and space. Anyone with any suggestions or experience with this, please feel free to write me.
When I am not feeding children or animals, or cleaning up poop, I am researching paranormal phenomena and cryptozoology. I am fascinated with the concept of the soul extending beyond the physical realm, as well as the legends and truths about unknown animals. I am a proud member of New England Anomalies Research N.E.A.R. founded by Keith and Sandra Johnson. Since joining their team, I have been on some cases that have challenged everything I have come to believe and understand. It has been and continues to be, a remarkable and fascinating journey.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who has a positive, upbeat attitude and a great sense of fun. People who love to laugh! Anyone who wants to learn and know and can accept other points of view. People who can relay stories about ancient civilizations. Koko the gorilla, she totally rocks and is quite a bit more intelligent than most human beings. Oh, and the Dalai Lama-- because he is what all people should aspire to be.
