These are not individuals who we consider ourselves "like" or try to be the same as, but rather who inspire us in some way or another. Inspiration comes in many colours, shapes, sizes and sounds...
Patty Griffin, Regina Spektor, Brandi Carlile, Ryan Adams, Tom Petty, Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Po' Girl, Ben Lee, The Beatles, Josh Ritter, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Ingrid Michaelson, John Hiatt, Rilo Kiley, Feist, The Fray, Damien Rice, Yael Naim, Rachelle Van Zanten, The Weakerthans, David Gray... maybe even you.

acoustic, folk, country, rock, bluegrass, pop... a little bit of everything.
After much deliberation... seriously, we've thought about for a long time... we have decided to go with a different band name. We have our reasons, I assure you:
1. "Vissia Sisters." Say that five times fast. Maybe you have or have not realized it before, but "Vissia Sisters" has five S's in it. It's a bit of a tongue twister.
2. For some reason or another, a lot of people have trouble pronouncing "Vissia."
3. For some reason or another, a lot of people have trouble spelling "Vissia."
If you cannot spell, let alone pronounce, a name, how can we expect you to remember it? On top of all that, the change just feels right. It's the right time. We have come so far since the days of matching skirts and cowboy hats.
There are also reasons for choosing the name, "The Plain Janes." First off, the three of us are from Stony Plain. Also, plain is another word for prairie. We are, after all, from the country. The name resonates with us on a personal level, which we knew would be an important deciding factor when choosing a new name. As for the Janes part, it just seemed to fit!
Brenda, Paul, Judy and I send our thanks. That was a very special night for us. Paul loved the special happy birthday sing along. You ladies sing like angels together. Excited to hear your new CD in the future. I love your Lucinda cover big time!

Thats awesome. I love the music from Into The Wild and i think Eddie Vedder is a genious! I've been on the road recently writing songs for my next album. I dont know if Ill go to the Folk Fest I've been very tight on money recently. I'll see what I can do and maybe I'll stop bye but it's unlikely. I would love to see you and your sisters at my Hulberts gig! It has been way to long since we have last seen each other. I am also still wondering if you and your sisters would be interested in singing for a song on my album. I really would like that :) How is everything with you?

Ya I enjoyed it too. I'd have to say that show was my favorite show I've ever played just because it was a lot of fun. I think maybe I'll stop by your concert on the wednesday and check it out. And i would definetly like to get together and jam or write a song or something. I do have one song in the books that i would love to have all three of you sing with me for it...however i don't have lyrics but im slowly working on it.
And you! I love gigging with my sister... she sings backing onan video I have up, but we've never really recorded together apart from one song. Don't y'all fight when you work together?
