About me: Guitarist for Novembers Doom, a dark death metal band on The End Records, bassist for Sage4, a female fronted metal band, and guitarist for Divinity Compromised, a melodic progressive metal band.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet new students! If you are in the Northwest Chicagoland area, and are looking for guitar lessons, drop me a line! vito@marchesemusic.com
My idea or
my notion of what the psychedelic experience is for is that we must
each become like fishermen, and go out on the dark ocean of mind and
let your nets down into that sea - and what you're after is not some
behemoth that will tear thru your nets, foul them, and drag you and
your little boat down into the abyss. Nor are what we're looking for a
bunch of sardines, that can slip thru your net and disappear... ideas
like "have you ever noticed that your little finger exactly fits your
nostril?" - stuff like that. What we're looking for are MIDDLE-sized
ideas that are not so small that they're trivial, and not so large that
they're incomprehensible, but middle-sized ideas that we can
wrestle into our boat and take back to the folks on-shore and have fish
dinner. And every one of us, when we go into the psychedelic state,
this is what we should be looking for - it's not for YOUR elucidation;
it's not part of your self-directed psycho-therapy. You are an
EXPLORER, and you represent our species - and the greatest good you can
do is to bring back a NEW IDEA, because our world is endangered by the
absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of
consciousness - and so to whatever degree any one of us can bring back
a small piece of the picture, and contribute it to the building of the
new paradigm, then we participate in the redemption of the human spirit
- and that, afterall, is what it's really all about.
hey Vito - have you checked into the amps from Bugera? Seem to be quite the thing lately, they've got a 5150 clone called the 6260 (LOL), all-tube 120 watts, only $499!
How are you, bud? How's everything in the Windy City? Did you have fun at the acoustic Hot Topic gig the other day? I was gonna ask Tracey about it but she hasn't been on in a while =/
How do you manage to split your time between Novembers Doom, SAGE4 AND your new band? You must be, like...I dunno, Batman or something (don't know why Batman hahaha!).
Anyways, I hope life's treating you well! Thanks for finding/adding me, and by the way...That's MY Rubber Ducky! Teehee.
