"If you want to make a difference particularly about animal welfare, whether you’re a vegetarian or not then joining Viva! is a great thing to do and obviously Viva! can support you in a load of different ways to help animals and to help yourself."

"Sometimes its hard when you are surrounded by friends who may not share your beliefs on vegetarianism and that’s why joining Viva! is a great thing to do, you become part of a community of people that are all acting to help change the world."

“I have been veggie since the age of 12. I had seen a programme on live animal transportation which made me have the idea initially. Me and my mum started the same day and it's just so easy - Mum cooks amazing veggie food and you wouldn't know the difference between veggie food or meat, my dad hasn't got a clue what he's eating and is practically an involuntary veggie!”
Viva! is a vegetarian/vegan non-profit organization which campaigns to end animal suffering, improve our health, protect the environment and bring fairness to the world’s poor by helping people stop eating animals and animal products.
Every year in Britain, more than 7 billion animals face the barbarity of slaughter - many fully conscious. Most spend their short, brutal lives in confinement, pain and misery.
“The most powerful action you can take to end animal suffering, improve your health, protect the environment and bring fairness to the world’s poor is to stop eating meat, dairy and fish. Support us and help Viva! campaign for a better world.” Juliet Gellatley, Founder & Director of Viva!
“The human appetite for animal flesh is a driving force behind virtually every major category of environmental damage – deforestation, erosion, fresh water scarcity, air and water pollution and climate change” (WorldWatch Institute, Washington). At sea, fishing has brought all the world’s oceans to the point of collapse. Yet still politicians fail to act.
We are determined to end cruelty to animals and to work for a saner, sustainable future. Through our solid research, undercover exposes and professional media skills, we are bringing the reality of modern farming into people’s homes. We have enlightened millions, shocked most and changed the diets of many. We have had many successes. Support Viva! and help us achieve even more.

Even a few hours of your time can make a world of difference. Every single person who decides to ditch meat because of your actions means you are directly helping to save the lives of thousands of animals. How’s that for good karma?!
Hi there! How's it going? Thanx for accepting my request! Come check out the songs from my brand new EP on my page! I'd really appreciate your opinion of them:) Cheers Itamar
I love VIVA! I wonder if PETA is like other big business? If they stop the suffering...Then they will not get money anymore. How many millions of dollars does it take to fix hunger, cancer and animal cruelty? I just had to say it. Have a beautiful day!!!
Hey, Just to say I am a huge supporter of Viva! and appreciate all that you do for animals. I respect you all so much, I think you're amazing people. I'm proud to support Viva! :)
Just dropping by to say thank you for all your hard work and dedication and for giving me the inspiration and strength to give a voice to the millions of voiceless animals that can't speak or fight for themselves.
My Love to all the Viva! team and all the volunteers, past, present and future, fighting and educating for a cruel free, environmentally friendly and healthy alternative to the madness (eating another living being) that plagues our society today..
I have just spent 2 nights in hospital following an accident, all the staff could offer me as a vegan meal was mashed potato, soya milk was only available to those who pre ordered a lactose intolerant diet via there dieticians. Vegans didnt seem to matter.
I find this appauling and hope my stay in hospital recently wil be favorable to other vegans staying and needing treatment in this area.
I really feel a campaign is needed for us vegans who need medical treatment in hospital. Can you help me start some kind of campaign?

Thanks for supporting Lucky, & Spread the Word HOW YOU CAN HELP "LUCKY" ELEPHANT STUCK IN CONCRETE ZOO for 46 YEARS, NOW SHE'S ALL ALONE! :[
SEND A LETTER NOW!
It only takes a few minutes to write a letter - the letter that could make all the difference for Lucky after 46 years in San Antonio Zoo.
Please write a letter - to the zoo, to City Council, to the Express-News.
To Steve McCusker - Executive Director, and Gilbert F Vazquez - President of the Board of Directors, San Antonio Zoo: explain why you want Lucky freed, & be sure to say that you will not be visiting the zoo until she is released. You can also say that other zoos have successfully closed their exhibits and transported their elephants to sanctuaries.
Send your letter to: Steve McCusker & Gilbert F Vazquez San Antonio Zoo 3903 N. St. Mary’s Street San Antonio TX 78212-7183 Also call (210) 734-7291
To Mayor Phil Hardberger and City Council: the zoo is on city land, & is subsidized by us - the taxpayers. Council therefore has the financial authority to intervene. It also has a civic duty to do so, since both Lucky and the zoo are symbols of San Antonio. Council must not be afraid to make the moral decision that Steve McCusker does not care about.
E-mail the Mayors office at phardberger@sanantonio.gov. Copy all 10 council members - district1@sanantonio.gov etc.
Letters to the Express-News should be short and polite.
Focus on just one of the many reasons to free Lucky:
-Zoos cannot provide for the needs of an elephant. -Conservation and zoos are contradictions. -Zoos have outlived their educational value. -Other large U.S. zoos have successfully closed their elephant exhibits.
Send your letter to letters@express-news.net. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.
Lucky cannot speak for herself. Silence will not bring her the freedom she deserves. FREE LUCKY!
