Viviani Godoy es cantante.
Empezó a cantar en 1988 en Brasil como backing vocal del popular cantante Wando.
En 1989 actuó como cantante y actriz en el Musical “Hair”.
En 1990 fue a vivir en Holanda para estudiar en el Conservatorio de Música de Róterdam.
Al principio Viviani fue la vocalista de la banda “Vicio Novo”, donde el batería era Hans Van Oosterhout (Toots Thielemans, John Scofield). Con esta banda se vendieron 2.000 CDS sólo en conciertos.
Después empezó a cantar en Ámsterdam en el bar brasileño Canecao, donde compartía escenario con el guitarrista Leonardo Amuedo (Dulce Pontes, Ivan Lins) entre otros músicos excelentes.
Actuó como actriz y cantante en el primer largometraje del director holandés Eddy Terstall, que en el 2001 tuvo una de sus películas indicadas para luchar por el Oscar de mejor película extranjera.
Con la Banda “Banda Brava” estuvo en tournée en Indonesia y en el 2003 con el saxofonista Praful estuvo en Nueva York y Filadelfia.
También fue la presentadora del festival de Música Brasileña en Ámsterdam llamado “Viva Brasil”, llegando a presentar Marisa Monte, Daniela Mercury, Chico Cesar y Margareth Menezes entre otros.
En el 2003, liderando la banda Electro Coco, lanzó su primer CD llamado “Coco do Mundo”. La banda empezó en Octubre de ese año en escenarios pequeños, y más tarde participaron en un festival del norte de Holanda donde tocaron para 4000 personas.
Tras el lanzamiento del CD la critica fue extremamente positiva: “Grabación superior dirigida a todas las pistas de baile en todas las estaciones del año ”(Oor) – “ Hecho especialmente para pistas de baile aunque por detrás de esta imagen late un corazón bastante orgánico” (Het Parool) – “Esta banda hace música internacional a un nivel también internacional” (Jazz).
En el 2004 Electro Coco estuvo en festivales muy reconocidos en Holanda y Bélgica como: Roots festival, Festival Mundial, North See Jazz Festival, Pole Pole, Lowlands y otros.
En el 2004 la banda fue nominada como una de las bandas más prometedoras para los Essent Awards. También fueron nominados para los Edison Awards en la categoría de World Music. Los Edison Awards es la versión holandesa de los Grammy americanos o los Echo alemanes. Después salieron en MTV.
En el 2005 Viviani fue a vivir a Barcelona.
En el 2006 Viviani cantó en la banda sonora de la película documental “Tiempo muerto” del director Pablo Morales.
En el 2007 participó como cantante del tournée de la banda “Cubop City Big Band” en el proyecto “Latin Divas”, junto a las cantantes Imma y Izaline Calister .
Actualmente canta en el proyecto “Squadra Bossa” del DJ belga Buscemi (artista de la discográfica Blue Note) en Bélgica, Moscú y otros países. Al mismo tiempo canta también en Cataluña acompañada del guitarrista Paulino Lemos y de los percusionistas Alan Sousa y Sandro Lustosa (Manu Chao, Macaco etc..); el repertorio se compone de canciones inéditas de compositores brasileños como Chico Cesar, Zeca Baleiro y otros.
Viviani está a punto de terminar el 3er año de la escuela de cine de Barcelona(Cecc), donde estudia dirección de cine. Ha dirigido dos documentales:
“Lost on the super high way” (2002) y “AnAmontAnA” (2008); y dos cortos de ficción: “La espera” (2006) y “Edifico San Pedro” (2008)

Viviani Godoy is a singer.
She started singing in 1988 in Brazil as a backing vocal of the brazilian singer Wando.
In 1989 she performed as a singer and actress in the Musical “Hair”.
In 1990 she went to Holland to study at Rotterdam Conservatoire (singing and music theory)
At first she was the lead singer of a band called “Vicio Novo” where the drummer was Hans Van Oosterhout (Toots Thielemans, John Scofield) and sold 2000 cds only in concerts.
Then she started singing in Amsterdam in the Brazilian Bar Canecao, where she sang with the guitar player Leonardo Amuedo (Dulce Pontes, Ivan Lins) amongst other great musicians.
Then she acted and sang in the first feature film “Transit” from the Dutch film director Eddy Terstall.
Together with the band “Banda Brava” she went on tour to Indonesia.
Later she went on tour to NY and Philadelphia as the lead singer of a project of the saxophone player Praful.
In 2003 she released her first album called “Coco do Mundo” with the band Electro Coco.
The band started in October on small stages in Holland’s capital city. Then they got invited to a big festival in the night of the 31st of December in the North of Holland where they played in front of an audience of 4000 people. After the release of the album “Côco do Mundo”, the critics of both concerts and CD were extremely positive: “Superior record, meant for all dance floors and all seasons!” (OOR) – “Tailor made for the dance floor, but behind this club image is beating a real organic heart” (Het Parool) – “This band makes international music of an international level” (JAZZ)… just to name a few…
Despite the short period of existence, the band was in the summer of 2004 already playing in a lot of known festivals in Holland and Belgium, like Amsterdam Roots, Festival Mundial Afterparty, North Sea Jazz Festival, Pole Pole, Antilliaanse Feesten and Lowlands. The fact that the band was getting invited for world music festivals as well as jazz & pop festivals and dance club nights made it a true world music band! The band got noticed by the jury of the Essent Awards, a Dutch award for the most promising bands, who choose Electro Côco as one of the winners for 2004. They also were nominated for the Edison Awards in the World Music category. The Edison award is the Dutch version of the American Grammy or the German Echo awards. Then they appeared in MTV.
In 2006 she sang the sound track of the documentary “Tiempo Muerto” from director Pablo Morales
In 2007 she did the tour in Holland with the amazing “Cubop City Big Band” with the project “Latin Divas”, where she sang together with Izaline Calister (you can find something on www.youtube.com with the misspelled name “Viviane Godoy”)
Nowadays she is the lead singer of “Squadra Bossa”, the band of the well-known belgian DJ Buscemi, an artist from Blue Note Records.
In Barcelona Viviani sings together with the guitar player Paulinho Lemos (Fatima Guedes), as a trio with the percussion player Sandro Lustosa (Manu Chao, Macaco etc..) and as a quartet with a bass player.
She sings an original repertoire composed by Brazilian composers like Chico Cesar and Zeca Baleiro amongst others.
At present Viviani is about to finish the 3er year of a film school academy in Barcelona to be a film director.
She has already directed 2 short documentaries:
