Jazz vocalist and recording artist Vivian Lee is truly a child of the world having grown up in a military family, then pursuing a military career herself. She specializes in the standards .. Gershwin, Ellington, Berlin, James, Jobim, and the like, with a little Brubeck and Gillespie thrown in. Her main venues have been the cabaret/supper clubs and nightclubs such as The Delta King Riverboat and Savanna..s in Sacramento, and Moody..s Bistro in Truckee. She has also been a mainstay at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee.
Ms Lee has played with such notable musicians as bassists Bill Douglass and Bootza Nacek, drummer Ed Thigpen, and pianist Joe Gilman. She has assembled a top notch ensemble of players, who together with her unique style, phrasing and magical stage presence have been captivating audiences from Lake Tahoe to the Bay area. Known for her story-telling and banter with the audience she will pull you into the world that she creates on stage.
As a recording artist she has released three CDs - her 2000 debut CD, ..Scarlett.., 2002 release, ..Where is Love.., and 2004 ..Have You Met Miss Lee?.. all of which have made the rounds of national public radio jazz stations.
The twice SAMMIE (Sacramento area music awards) nominated Miss Lee is also the driving force behind a local Sunday Jazz Club venture at Savanna..s (Red Lion Hotel) that features the area..s finest jazz musicians as well as regional and national touring jazz groups passing through Sacramento. She also is part of an ongoing program, giving monthly donations to help promote local high school jazz.
Ms Lee has also twice (2005, 2006) been voted one of Sacramento..s top jazz groups and top local entertainer by subscribers in Sacramento Magazine..s annual ..Best Of Sacramento issue.

It's simple (seriously) - and it's free! The key SacLights difference is that we’re 100% local. Your local audience can now easily find and listen to your latest work, then go to your next show.
Just register as anyone else would, set your display name to your band name, then:
∙ Post your music, videos, show listings, show fliers, pictures ∙ Have your tracks in the site-wide radio player of local musicians with links to your band’s profile ∙ Find, listen, and message other local musicians ∙ Notify 'friends' of upcoming shows ∙ Keep a blog ∙ It's also easy to link to your myspace, lastfm or other websites.
From now through most of February your registration also gets you a chance to win an iPhone, so stop reading and register, ya dig?! ..
