Mit „Nordic Hotel“ präsentieren die Luzerner bereits ihr fünftes Album, das im März 2009 erscheinen wird.
Der Titel des Albums ist Programm, wurde es doch mit Top-Producer/Songwriter Sandi Strmljan (u.a. Udo Lindenberg, No Angels, Natural) in Hamburg aufgenommen, was für einen Schweizer schon extrem nördlich ist. Für den Mix ist übrigens Marc Schettler verantwortlich (u.a. Farin Urlaub, Slayer, Sportfreunde Stiller, Christina Stürmer).
Nachdem die letzten drei Alben der Schweizer mit Leichtigkeit den Sprung in die heimischen Charts schafften, setzen sie auch mit „Nordic Hotel“ wieder ein deutliches Zeichen, dass mit ihnen zu rechnen ist. So gibt es auf dem Longplayer außer 13 neuen Titeln ein Wiederhören mit einem bekannten Vivian-Hit: fast 8 Jahre nach Erscheinen von „The Only One“ gibt es nun endlich eine Akustikversion, die von ihren Fans bereits seit Jahren gefordert wurde.
Durch die gemeinsame Europatour mit Status Quo, im vergangenen Jahr, entstand eine enge Freundschaft mit Francis Rossi, der es sich nicht nehmen ließ auf „Wanna Go To Mars“ die Guestvocals beizusteuern.
Man darf also auf „Nordic Hotel“ gespannt sein. Auf jeden Fall lässt die erste Single-Auskopplung „Another Last Shot“ bereits erahnen, was auf uns zukommen wird…
Vivian are back! With „Nordic Hotel“ the band from Lucerne already present their fifth longplay album, that is going to be released in March 2009.
The album title tells the story, as it was recorded in Hamburg – which is for a band from Switzerland close to the north pole – together with german top-producer and songwriter Sandi Strmljan (Udo Lindenberg, No Angels, Natural). The album has been mixed by Marc Schettler (Farin Urlaub, Slayer, Sportfreunde Stiller, Christina Stürmer).
After the last three albums have made their way easily into the Swiss sales charts, VIVIAN set with „Nordic Hotel“ a clear signal that they are back. Apart from 13 brand new tracks they de-cided to record an acoustic version of their first hit „The Only One“.
Through the European tour together with Status Quo the band got really close with Francis Rossi, who proudly contributed guest vocals on „Wanna Go To Mars“.
So watch out for „Nordic Hotel“. By the way: the song „Catch Me“ (release in October 2008) has been chosen to be the official song for the Motocross events „SX-Zürich“.
