About me:
VIVID provides a resource for artists and curators in the form of commissions, residencies, exhibitions, publications, research, talks and touring activities.
VIVID's project space accommodates the production and exhibition of media arts, bringing together technical resources, support services and presentation facilities in a unique environment
VIVID has been supporting media artists since 1992 through provision of production research and exhibition support, artists' residencies, public events, commissioning, touring and publications. VIVID's curatorial policy aims to increase audience access to both emergent talent and work of international significance. The programme reflects the development of media arts through a juxtaposition of historical and contemporary practice.
Our production and exhibition base is a former motor vehicle workshop in the heart of Birmingham's new Eastside quarter which embraces the industrial heritage of the quarter. With the support of ebns and Advantage West Midlands, renovation has updated the premises whilst retaining the conjunction of art and technology that reflects the crossovers which VIVID encourages through its artistic programme.
