Band MembersVivien Scotson - Vocals,Guitar

Patrick Bullen - Vocals, Guitar, Drums, Tin Whistle, Recorder, Tamborine, Triangle, Glockenspiel ..he claims he can play anything.... I'll let you decide..

Session Musicians:

Laura Durrant - Cello, Backing Vocals

Melvin Duffy - Wiesenborn/Dobro/Banjo/Guitar/Pedal Steel

James Edwin - Bass, Ebo
InfluencesVIVIEN:

Vivien didn't study music growing up. She ran out of her only singing lesson when she was 10, because the teacher asked her to sing in an American accent. She's Scottish, hence running. Sometimes Vivien writes about places, where she has lived, like Italy in the summer time, and Pollok in Scotland. But Vivien mostly writes about love and life, and all things that she has directly experienced.

It all really began when she was 21 and watched a three hour documentary on Dolly Parton's life and musical journey.

My Dad used to drive me and my 4 sisters and my mother to Italy every summer, for 10 years. He played Pavaroti, Andrea Bocceli, The Beatles and Dr Hook mainly on the car stereo. So I learnt nearly every word. I'd say they were all probably my first inspirations, without knowing it.

PATRICK:

Hails from a musical family, and from an early age was very musical but it all really started when one day he "hurt his knee" and was in crutches for 8 months, so decided, what the heck, he'd start writing songs.

VIVIEN SCOTSON AND PATRICK BULLEN

New Ep "Small Beginnings" Now Available for £5 from the following myspace page: www.myspace.com/paddybullen

Vivien Scotson and Patrick Bullen began as a new collaboration in March 2009, after they became friends at Celtic Connections 2009. They played to a sold out launch night on the 1st of May, armed with their new EP, “Small Beginnings”.

Since the EP’s release in May, it has been aired regularly on several very popular BBC Radio Scotland shows, including the Tom Morton show, Travelling Folk show, the Iain Anderson show and sold over 200 copies in the first month of it’s release.
Before Vivien and Patrick began working together, they had separately been performing on the music scene.

Vivien had only been playing the Glasgow scene for a few years and had already worked with artists like Sandi Thom, Marti Pellow, Athena, Ali Bain and Phill Cunningham and toured with Charlie Pride and also Donnie Munro.(Runrig) where Vivien sings on 5 tracks of his new award winning album .

small version

Patrick had only been on the scene for under a year and had supported the Levellers, and has sung along side Eddie Reader.

Have a beautiful summer!

THank you for your friendship. I love your music! Not to worry, my execution was heavily guarded that no authorized person could not even possibly get close to the site. Plus, I don't know if you have read my whole story, but my son ordered to sew my head back. So, you can sit back and enjoy my online presence;)

Best regards,
