"There are shortcuts to happiness...and dancing is one of them."
Dancing has changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. It's the best. Why? I quote:
"While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole."
THAT is why.
Other than dance, I'm into computers, technology, travelling, getting to know new people, and continually getting to know myself along the way.
Oh yes, and I'm particularly interested in this day:
Music
I absolutely love music--classical and instrumental, to rock, Hip Hop, R&B, and the soundtracks of movies and theater musicals, then everything inbetween (but only a bit of country). Mostly anything with a beat that moves me to dance. As individual artists and songs go, check out my playlist. I keep it filled with my latest finds and old favorites.
Movies
My favorite movies are those that depict physically or intellectually strong women in kick-ass roles. I really like suspense/thrillers, action/adventure and enjoy romantic comedies, dramedies, musicals, lots of animated films, and occasionally an old classic.
Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, Some Like It Hot, Vertigo, Disney and Pixar movies, Copycat, 88 Minutes, Bound, Suspect Zero, The Illusionist, The Devil Wears Prada, Wedding Planner, Imagine Me & You, Fried Green Tomatoes, Anne of Green Gables/Avonlea, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Brave One, Lara Croft Tomb Raider(s), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Mrs. Doubtfire, Bicentennial Man, Entrapment, X-Men and Bourne Trilogies, Dirty Dancing, Dance with Me, Shall We Dance, Take the Lead, lots of independent films, plus loads more.
Television
I hardly ever watch TV, but I LOVE 30 ROCK. Tina Fey is a genius. I also like Ellen, Oprah, Bones, CSI, South of Nowhere, TLW, Bad Girls, Wire in the Blood...
Then I'll always watch reruns of Golden Girls, Designing Women, Father Dowling, MacGyver, Murder She Wrote, Charlie's Angels, and anything ballroom-related.
Books
Reading isn't my favorite pastime, but I like mystery and historical novels in general. I liked all of Dan Brown's and Sarah Waters' books, Mary Higgins Clark's work, and (of course) Harry Potter is great.
Heroes
My specific heroes are the people who have made a special impact on me: my mom (the most giving person I know), my GENIUS older sis Teresa, my good friend Erma, definitely my dance teacher Jen, and many other people I have met who have taught me valuable lessons.
In general, I admire and deeply respect people who know what they want and go for it; people who are true to themselves despite what other people think, say, or do; people who selflessly give of themselves; people who reach out and touch lives, changing them for the better; people who accept others for who they are without passing judgement.

The summer has definitely been an amazing one. A trip to California kicked it off with a great start and then spending lots of time at home with my family--and most especially my brand new baby sister. She's beautiful. I spent a few weeks in Montana and got to catch up with old friends as well as meet some fantastic new ones. Now I'm back in Cedar and already neck deep in fall classes. I'll be graduating in May and already looking forward to next summer's adventures. I'm also hoping to ease back into some dancing very soon. I hear music and lately it just drives me crazy to not move with it. Here's being hopeful....
Who I'd like to meet: TINA FEY, lots of people who love dancing, Simone Lahbib, the Terrible Three, Scribegrrrrl, really the whole cast-I mean crew-at AE, and any other smart, opinionated people with a wicked sense of humor.
