BIO

Now a producer for Coldcut and their record label Ninja Tune (3 million records sold worldwide) VJ Om Boy is a new kind of artist combining music composition, singing and VJing.

On the visual side, he is both influenced by the work of Addictive TV, Inside Us All and Coldcut, and by the works of painters such as Cezanne, Picasso, Barcelo, and Monet and the impressionists.
He combines all these elements in a modern travelling state of mind, after he was raised in a multicultural environment in Paris 13e. He is self taught in music, as well as photography and visuals.

As a VJ (Video Jockey), he enjoys all kinds of work: making visual shows for other acts, producing audiovisual pieces, and remixing images for film makers such as multi award winner Nikolaus Geyrhalter ("Our Daily Bread").

As a music producer, he first released under the name Matsaï, his first song composed on his first computer which was luckily signed soon after he gave it to a few records company upon his return from a 2 year stay in the USA. There, he had been studying analog synthesis in Tampa, FL with a grant, had been a radio DJ there for a year and a half.

His music was also remixed by the German brothers Tiefschwarz, also remixers of Madonna and Depeche Mode, and the maxi was played on the radio worldwide on 4 continents. The remix did fairly well, as Tiefschwarz had already done the cover of DJ Mag so both songs received a lot of attention, and were played from from London (BBC Radio1, Kiss FM) to New York, from Paris (radio Nova) to Berlin and even in Australia and Russia (more than a dozen countries on 4 continents).

The sleeve was done by H5, winners of the 2002 MTV Best Video of the Year with a Röyskopp clip (also graphic artists for Massive Attack, Air... )

NEWS

Lately, VJ Om Boy has been touring with Coldcut as a visual artist accross Italy, France, Germany (supporting Massive Attack in front of 7 000 people), Poland, Slovenia, Tcheq Republic, and more recently for the BBC electric proms (along with Keane, The Streets, Goldfrapp and Oasis)

This time is now for studio production, both musical and visual, producing a new single, already in high demand all accross London as a demo version ("I say yeah") and praised by radio pluggers and DJs altogether.

VJ Om Boy is also working on a new kind of audio visual event, somewhere between a movie and a concert, with an amazing environmental audio visual show called "Our Home is Burning", featuring collaborations with NGOs and award winning movies worldwide - from France to England, from the US to Germany, from Hungary to Egypt, and from Austria to Cuba. Meanwhile, VJ Om Boy has produced a few tracks for the new Coldcut album, to come later in 2009, and has suggested to them the idea of an environmental audiovisual show, for which they have asked for a grant, a few months after he had already started working on his.

Last but not least, VJ Om Boy has accepted to help to promote and distribute a new revolutionary video mixer, the Vixid, already used by Radiohead and Coldcut. Distribution in the Uk is available through his company, coco ding ding.
