Queens Bridge projects, in New York City, America’s most notorious and largest ghetto has birthed some of the worlds’ biggest stars in music and in sport. V-12, formerly signed to fellow Queens Bridge alumni and NBA superstar Ron Artest’s ‘Tru Warrior Records’ , is the latest offering to the Hiphop world.
Hiphop fans will know V-12 has provided his soulful lyrical prowess to some of the hood’s most highly regarded, and critically acclaimed releases. From Tragedy Khadafi’s awe inspiring ‘Walk With Me’ (from Tragedy Khadafi’s ‘Still Reporting’ album) penned and recorded shortly after the tragedies of 9/11, to Nas’ “Let ‘Em Hang” from Lakey The Kid’s ‘The 41st Side’ compilation and everything in between, V-12 has laced production from Scram Jones, The Alchemist, Now & Laterz and many more tracks from the hottest producers in the Hiphop scene, providing the missing ingredient to bring Queens Bridge’s legacy full circle – a R&B voice that can capsulate the struggles, pain and soul of the hood.
No stranger to the poverty that plagues inner city communities, V-12 persevered using his God Given talent as a guiding light and it is that conviction and commitment that allowed him to work with the likes of – as well as the aforementioned – Mobb Deep, Imam Thug, Bars-&-Hooks, Shyhiem of Wu Tang, Infamous Mobb, famed producer Steve Sola. Enabling V-12 to contribute to hundreds of thousands of album sales world wide as well as performing alongside the likes of Keisha Cole, Bubba Sparks, and 112.
With a name now imprinted in the ever-growing legacy of Queens Bridge, and his well earned niche in ghetto-soul as well as lyrics that express both an intimate side in addition to the hard-body thug from the hood, V-12 has rightfully claimed the crown as The King of Queens Bridge.
