MySpace a place for friends

Having been born above a Friends Meeting House in Swindon, Mike Futcher spent his formative years eating sheep shit in various communes around the UK - this may be why he doesn't have any allergies. Around the age of three he and his parents were turfed out as he spent too many of the summer days wandering around naked. This is based on what his parents have said, as he was too young to remember most of it.

I was then educated at home, which meant that rather than going to school I had time to teach myself all sorts of interesting things. This carried on until I was sixteen, when I joined a full-time art-course for the under-qualified at Chesterfield Collage. At this time, like many bullied teenagers I turned to role-playing, which built for me both confidence and geekyness in equal measure. I’m now almost entirely without shyness, but if asked “what are the chances?” may well try to calculate them.

The course led eventually to a degree in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University, and I now work as an independent animator, mostly running workshops for school children. This was my first experience of being in a functioning school. I also Video Jockey - live-mixing video to music – under the name of VJ YOGYOG.
