V Rocks --
If there was ever a time that the late, great Freddie Mercury and the amazing Pat Benetar got together and created a musical love child, Victoria hopes that she would emulate that offspring. Victoria has been singing and playing instruments since she turned five years old. Through the years she has studies many aspects of music, but ultimately went with voice performance. After being classically trained and ostracized for her taste in rock music, she decided to leave her music conservatory life behind and moved forward into the crazy world of rock and roll. Victoria has been writing and recording original music since she was sixteen and now at the ripe young age of twenty four with years of playing grime rock clubs under her belt and dealing with the bitter NYC musicians, she remains humble and hopeful that ultimately she will be a house hold name, have legions of young fans singing her music and will have the world eating out of the palms of her hand. She has put together a band that has traveled through out NY and the surrounding states, kicking butts and taking names. Victoria’s next plan of action is world domination, but she intends to start small and go for domestic first.
Josette is a NY/NJ based guitarist who has traveled the world over touring with countless bands and always conjuring up the double take; not only is she strikingly beautiful, she can shred like the greats. Josette and Victoria performed a few times together and parted ways, but in the spring of 2007 they joined forces again to start playing in what would soon become the rock band known as 'V'
When it came time for finding our bass player, Josette mentioned one talented player that she had knows for years, and always wanted to play with but never had the chance. This was the perfect chance. Sebastian describes his playing as "I play so hard, sometimes I wonder if I'm going to rip my finger skin off" - That was like music to Victorias ears. After Victoria and Sebastian got to talking, it became clear that the pieces of the puzzle were coming together and that there was only one last piece to find.
One night after a show in Brooklyn, Josette and Victoria went to Rockwood Music Hall to see a friend perform - and she had a new drummer playing with her. His name was Steve and he was clearly one of the most talented drummers in NYC that we had encountered in a long time. He had recently moved to NY from Ohio, and was looking for bands to rock out in - and the rest is history.
Rock on.
