    FULLY AUTOMATED

The new VNV Nation album "Automatic" will be released in September. The album has been in production for a while and so far it's an incredibly energetic and anthemic release, and then some. We'll be premiering some of the new songs at our show at the Nordstern Festival in Hamburg in July and snippets and previews will be posted online over the summer. There's so much we want to tell you about this album and what we have planned around it but we prefer to keep it a surprise, for the moment. There are lots of things planned that we've never attempted before and we're really excited about it.

    AUTOMATIC TOUR

The European tour will kick off in September 6th in Germany. Our über-special guests on the tour will be Straftanz. This is a band who put on a great live show and are the right kind of people to be stuck in a bus for 4 weeks with if you have therapist vouchers you need to use up. Dates are on the live page at www.vnvnation.com. A couple of additional dates will be added in the next week couple of weeks. Tickets are on sale now from www.headlineconcerts.de

The North American tour will start mid-November. The first part will run to mid December and then we'll be back again in early 2012 for lots more shows. We'll have dates for you in a few months.

We're also finalizing dates for the UK (October), Spain (January) and our booker is working on shows for Scandinavia and South America.

This won't be all and we'll have plenty of other shows that will get added in the coming months.

    CROSSING THE DIVIDE

A word on the EP. This release date was delayed and then the whole release had to be postponed last year. Even though this frustrated quite a few fans who demanded an explanation, it wasn't really possible to say more than that "there were very valid reasons". A lot of it had to do with personal matters which weren't appropriate for public discussion. The short version is that Ronan had a number of serious eye operations last year. What was supposed to have been a short healing period turned into 6 months of treatment to correct a number of other issues that had been there all along. The whole experience was extremely frustrating and emotionally exhausting for him and, combined with limited computer use, affected any work on tracks or releases. But, that's all out of the way now.

What we've decided to do now is to give the EP away for free. We're working with a company called Pledge, which we'll post more about soon, who will assist us with distributing the tracks and cover art. We feel that this is the best way to make good on a promised release that had to be postponed.

    REMIXES AND COVER VERSIONS

We've just completed a remix of Within Temptation's new single "Sinêad". The band love it so much that their singer Sharon recorded a special vocal to be added to it and the band asked for a special radio version from us. That's the first time that's happened and, as you can imagine, that's an incredible compliment. Das Bunker, the club in LA with the grammatically incorrect name and exceptionally good taste in music, is releasing a tribute to the 80s compilation where a ton of scene artists attempted to re-create, re-interpret, humiliate and pay ironic tribute to classics from the decade of shoulder pads and frosted highlights. Modcom (Ronan's side project) has a cover version on there of the 80s HiNRG classic "Native Love" with Claus Larsen from Leatherstrip supplying the vocals. If you liked Modcom's remix of Chrome, you haven't heard anything yet. Also up and coming is a remix of Rotersand's "Merging Oceans"
  • Moving our focus to the VNV Nation page on Facebook

    Hi,

From now on, we'll be concentrating more on our Facebook page. We're not abandoning MySpace and will update content here. For us, Facebook has become the best way for us to communicate with people and update them about what's new with VNV Nation.

Since Myspace was revamped, it's been more than problematic to use and has made it harder to interact with people and promote VNV Nation. The mail box is full of spam on a daily basis and, unless this changes, we can't use it as a way of keeping in touch.

Myspace has played an incredible role in letting people know who we are. The page will continue to be there and we'll update the important info.

In any case, we hope to see you on our Facebook page sometime soon.

2011 will be a very busy year. We are playing at a lot of festivals and have a new album and more planned.

    Best wishes,
    Ronan and Mark

  • New label for North America - Anachron America

    Current mood:excited

We are very proud to announce the creation of our own North American label "Anachron America". We've been working on this idea for a while now and have known for some time that this was the next step we wanted to take, when the time was right.

In its current climate, the music industry affords artists lots of new opportunities and innovative ideas to release their music and it's a situation that we felt we should take advantage of. The new label is a collaboration with Channel Zero, who bring a wealth of experience with alternative music, an energy and enthusiasm that fits with our own, as well as the know-how to turn our ideas into reality without affecting or sacrificing the spirit in which we do things and our loyalty to the people who love our music.

We want to continue doing what we have always done best but, with a great organisation behind us, to build on it and to take it further than we have been able to, with complete independence and complete control over our music, how it is released and how it's promoted. Reformation 1 will be the first release on Anachron America, to inaugurate the label.
  • "Reformation 1" Box Set (updated - Feb 20)

VNV Nation's next release, "Reformation 1", will be released on April 17th in Europe. The North American release date is TBC but should be no more than a couple of weeks after the European date. We'll post that info as soon as we know.

This is a release that's specially intended for VNV Nation fans. It will come in the form of a limited edition, 3-disc, high quality, compact boxset containing; a 12 track live CD, a 12 track CD of remixes and rare or previously unreleased material, a DVD with 8 video edits put together by different people between 2005-2008, and a book of live images as well as a wealth of information about the tracks themselves. The Box Set will be limited to 18,000 copies worldwide (9,000 copies with a PAL format DVD for Europe and 9,000 copies with an NTSC format DVD for North America).

We spent a lot of time in 2008 planning what our releases should be like from now on and this is part of those plans. The original idea for Reformation was to replace the need for singles by releasing an EP or Album containing remixes, alternate versions and live versions of tracks from the album Matter and Form. There were problems getting the rights to use the live material and by the time the problem was solved we were already working on the last album 'Judgement', so it was postponed. We never abandoned the plan and, as ideas grew, Reformation evolved into something much bigger and better. Reformation 1 will be part of a series where we release special material to our fans. We put a lot of work into this and we're very proud of the results. We hope you will be too.

[added 20.Feb] For all who sent comments or messages asking - the release date, online ordering info, etc. will be posted here shortly. Retail in the US will be $25 for the boxset.

From what we've seen, Boxsets, especially limited ones, usually go for much more, but we honestly didn't see the sense in that, and especially in the current climate. We've done everything possible to produce this for the lowest price possible, considering that it still contains 2xCDs, a DVD and a rather stylish, compact, embossed, hardcover box with digipack and a book. After all, this is our new label's inauguration release and something we are sure you'll enjoy.
