Paul Hazelgrove-Spurin graduated from the Colchester Institute where he read music and specialised in performance.
A member of the Institute choir and Chamber choir he studied under Patrick McCarthy and Christopher Keyte.
Originating from South Wales, Paul began his musical training within the Welsh Choral tradition singing with local town choirs.
Whilst still at school he has had the privilege of being a member of the Mid Glamorgan Youth Choir (Ogmore Residential Centre) and the South Glamorgan Youth Choir under the director Helena Braithwaite.
Paul also runs his own vocal quartet called The Orianna Consort recorded in February 2001, which specialise in English madrigals, as well as running a school choir called Cantique.
In May 2001 and 2004, Paul was invited to be the Cantor for the yearly pilgrimage to Boulogne Cathedral.
Paul currently sings with Psalmody as a member of the choir and also the Colchester Bach Choir as a member of the choir and soloist.
