After months of monotany, former Vocoder has decided to disband, the members following separate new musical paths. Once again, this leaves the only constant in Vocoder...singer Miles Coleman, to dream it all up again. "This is about
the 20th lineup of the band to burn itself to the ground", says Coleman. Only this time, Miles has decided to take the fans on a ride.
His double CD due out sometime in the summer is a cornucopia of sound. It will be a no holds bar, sonic collage. The album, being put out on his own label, will test every boundary. No instrument will be safe, and there will be no restrictions except the ends of his imagination. With the help and contributions of friends, fellow musicians, and former members, Miles was able to complete his vision while continuing to do what he does best...sing and write. Since most all of the Vocoder songs were written, engineered, produced and recorded by Miles, the solo project tentatively titled "The Undefeated Romantic" definitely has a thread to it. "The hooks and sounds are there", says Coleman. "The vocals are definately there. After all it's the same voice. The sounds are just more diverse
and written around the vocal rather than being manipulated by
instrumentation...that at times...was complicated just for the sake of being
complicated".
"I understand someone wanting to look cool on stage...but, the idea of
noodling guitar solos and unnecessary drum fills doesn't appeal to me". "For those that want that, it's out there for them to find...I just don't want to be associated with that style of music."
So let the future bring what it may. And lets
hope Miles' music can rise out of the ashes of Vocoder once again to become another beautifull phoenix.
Hey guys!! We wanted to personally invite you to our show at the Beuaty Bar tonight (april 9th)... because you smell nice. We're playing with a band from out of town called Brown Shoe, so we'd love to give them the opportunity to play in front of a lot of San Diegans... - George, Tyson, Clint, Brandon - Incomplete Neighbor :)
Thanks for the add! We are Evangaline clothing. We have mens and womens gear. You can find us in the Dickies store in Escondido or our web page Evangelineclothing.com Check us out and let us know what u think :)
Alright...Now that we're friends and shit I just gotta say, 'WHOLE HOG's got yer back.' When someone at the store says, 'Nah, you go ahead of me'...it was probably due to this friendship. You go to tip the hot barmaid and she hands you back your dollar with a folded piece of paper with her number and a note that says, 'call me...please.', yep, probably due to this friendship also. basically expect good shit to happen to you from here on out. WHOLE HOG friendship has it's benefits.
You guys sounded great at the Ken Club the other night. Miles, it was so good to catch up with you. My old as f ass started to nod off in the booth before you guys went on. I hope my mouth wasn't open.
