General
As a child, my family would spend many nights with my Dad playing piano, while my sisters and I sang, danced and eventually began playing various instruments.
While in the sixth grade, I made my first "official" stage appearance. I played wash-tub bass in a talent show. I didn't win, but did get my picture in the newspaper.
I began my professional musical career at the age of thirteen, as the lead singer and bass player of my own band. We played for teen dances, class reunions, enlisted men's clubs, local concerts and won several "battle of the bands".
At 16, I started hosting a local radio show in Riverside, California on Saturday afternoons where my band and other performers were often featured.
Just out of high school, I began touring the United States with my show band. This in turn led to an appearance on the Tonight Show as well as other TV and radio shows. Then I began an string of Canadian and European concerts. I was also honored to perform in a USO/DOD tour that included a performance to United Nation Troops representing 51 countries.
My musical tastes run from sweet swinging ballads to bluesy barrel house. My goal is to make you feel like a special friend as I take you on a personal journey of my musical soul.
I have won numerous local, national and international awards as a vocalist, professional bassist and entertainer.
I continue to perform with my band as well as host and produce various radio shows and video programs, assist a local PBS TV station with on-air pledge drives as well as voice-overs for both radio and TV.

About me:
I am a multi-award winning vocalist, professional bassist and dynamic entertainer. I also have a California Teaching Credential. I have toured all over the United States, Canada and Europe with my band.
My voice lessons are tailored to each student to help them correct any bad habits, emphasize their strengths, develop new skills and help them achieve their goals as a singer. I do NOT use "cookie cutter" lessons like many vocal teachers. Rather your singing lessons will be tailored to YOU. Together, we will find your voice and develop your vocal style.
I work with amateur and professional vocalists: students as young as four years old to seasoned performers as well as bands and songwriters. I can help you sing better "just for fun" or to develop a serious career as a vocalist.
I can help you increase your vocal range, develop better breath control, learn about ear training, learn how to harmonize, improve your diction and enunciation, and more!
Many vocal coaches and instructors, sing a song here and there. Because I am a working vocalist and musician, I have learned and teach many ways to protect your voice while singing. When you do a one to five hour concert, corporate show, private party or night club gig you MUST treat your voice with respect. And then what happens when you have several gigs in a row??? If you are hoarse the next day, you are singing WRONG!!!! I can teach you how to have power and emotion without hurting your voice.
Along the way, I also teach some theory, so you as a vocalist can communicate better with musicians.
I offer voice lessons and vocal coaching in all popular styles: Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, Pop, R & B and more
Because of sooooooo many requests for me teach more students, I have added some additional times to my schedule. Private voice instruction and vocal coaching is now available at my studio Tuesday through Thursday evenings 5:30 to 9:30pm, Fridays 3:30 to 7:00pm and Saturdays 2:00 to 6:00PM.

Currently, my rates are a modest $30 per half-hour lesson or $55 per hour lesson. I give a family of 2 or more a price break as well. $30 for the first family member's half-hour lesson and $25 for each additional family member. For beginners, one half-hour lesson per week is plenty.
