| About Voices of Eve |
Voices of Eve
began as an acoustic duo with Singer/Songwriters Sara Zacek
and Galynne Goodwill.
For nearly 2 years Voices of Eve played in several coffee houses and night clubs in Wisconsin and began to develop quite a following. Their ability to entertain the crowd with comedic banter and their perfectly blended harmonies had them earning the respect of fellow songwriter/musicians as well as many music lovers in the area.
In March of 2005 they added Mark Riggenbach a.k.a. MarkOnDrums which added a fresh dynamic to their music through Mark's intuitive and tasteful drumming style. Throughout the summer this trio found themselves booked 3-4 nights a week, playing many outside venues which continued to build their following.
Galynne and Mark quickly discovered their musical tastes were very similar and included an array of up&coming artists that were just under the radar of mainstream music. These artists included the amazing talents of Erin McKeown, Josh Rouse, Andy Stochansky, Sarah Harmer, John Butler Trio, The Code Talkers, Ron Sexsmith, Badly Drawn Boy, Gomez..etc...
With the local music scene over-saturated with coverbands playing Classic Rock, Top 40, Pop, and Heavy Metal, the inspiration to form a unique band that performed originals and "songs you didn't know you didn't know" was put into place. It's upbeat, positive, feel-good music.
Voices of Eve brought on veteran guitarist and songwriter Tom Harter of Winona's Handbag and formerly BB Shine. Tom had already released two brilliant CD's: "After the Dreams: - (1994) and
"For Those Who Fall"(2003). Tom was the perfect addition to Voices of Eve and brought the much needed balance to the table.
Sara and Galynne have released their first acoustic cd - "Voices of Eve - Live at the Appleton Art Center". They give an intimate and uplifting acoustic performance at the Appleton Art Center during “A Night of Alternative Women” held on September 9, 2005. The CD is live & uncut that includes an array of originals and favorite covers as well as the intimate stories that go behind the songs they’ve written.
The full band will back in the recording studio recording their first CD as a band that will include a collaborative collection of originals from all members of the band. Mid-Winter is when the CD is expected to be released
