About Void Avoidance Ltd

Void Avoidance started in 2006 as a myspace page that posted interviews with bands that were working hard and making head way into music scenes around the country. The purpose was for other bands to learn from them and hopefully benefit from the advice the bands shared. It wasn't long after that live music events seemed to be the next step for Void Avoidance, and throughout 2007 and the beginning of 2008 Void Avoidance hosted an array of succesful live gigs and art parties in Glasgow's City Centre. In order to learn more about Record Label functions and services, Void Avoidance signed their friends Rodent Emporum on an album deal, which seen the band tour the states quite successfully. In September 2008 however Void Avoidance came to a decision that would dramtically change its functions and priorities. The experience of Void Avoidance's first two years was invaluable and they now have a much greater respect for those who work honestly and ethically in the music industry for musicians. Void Avoidance came to the conclusion that what they could offer musicians and artists was never going to be good enough, and while intentions are important, action is what musicans and artists really need, especially when the arts are struggling to get financial support. It was this realisation as well as the directors disappointemnt that what Void Avoidance was becoming wasnt really igniting their passions , or really using their gifts and talents. So... Void Avoidance Ltd is forming as a 'not for profit' Health Promotions company dedicated to using music and the arts to raise awareness of self-destructive behaviours and their related issues. Which can be seen anywhere and quite frequently in amazing and vibrant music and artistic scenes around the world. There will also be an educational aspect to Void Avoidance, meaning that we will be avilable to provide education and training for 'community responsible' organisatiosn and individuals on self-destructive behaviours and surrounding issues.
