part pink floyd part black metal all original and extreme metal... sometimes we sound like a mixed up fuckin tripy experience, merging ambient passages, with heavy guitars, some freak out delay licks... then we are heavy and fast with brutal drums, rythmic and passionate riffs, exploratory and inspirational bass lines... screechy and deathly black vocals and whispered searing spoken voices...
...the story thus far:
Quasar was first conceived in the winter of 2000, as a creative outlet for Baraath, who had previously spent many years behind the drum kit for Australian U.G. extreme bands DELUGE, SLAUGHTER THOU & RAVEN BLACK NIGHT.
With a return to guitar for Baraath, the first songs were created over the next few years, and, with his brother Qazim joining on drums in 2002, the foundation was set.
In mid 2005, D.M.T.2.K.5 was recruited to fulfill the Bass duties, and the year also saw the first live performances by the band, and the recording of the first promo, ETERNAL ANCIENT RHYTHMS, which is a sample from the debut 10 track CD "TALES OF ARCANA", which was released in the winter of 2007 and recieved many positive reviews world-wide.
In September 2007 Zoon joined Quasar ..boards and backing vocals to add a fourth dimension to the sound and then mid 2008 saw the recording of the 'Odyssey Through Darkness' promo. Due to personal reasons Zoon decided to leave and Haemorrh was recruited to carry on the keyboard duties, whilst DMT2k5 took over some of the live backing vocals.
Throughout the period 2007/2008 the song writing had continued, with enough material ready for the follow up CD to 'Tales of Arcana'. With a release of promo material early 2009, and subsequent full-length release to be recorded in the latter half of 2009.
Playing a unique & individual style of extreme metal, covering progressive psycho-delic black metal, ambient doom, with acoustic & percussive passages & experimental soundscapes, QUASAR have already received some great reviews from their live performances.....

As you know, we of the Asatru faith have many adherents in the Military, and have been working for some time for the right to place our symbol (The Mjolnir (or Thor's Hammer) on the graves of our fallen warriors. The Asatru Folk Assembly has put together a petition as part of our campaign. This is not a MySpace "Cause" or another online poll, but a legitimate petition which we aim to present to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Whether or not, you are an Asatruar, I hope you will support this cause as a basic right for our military personnel. Please sign the petition at:
