Terrorizer Magazine: Throughout the albums
eight tracks there is an overwhelming feeling of anger and hate purveyed through
a heavy, dirgy "Winter-esque" style that rings true to the legacy of
their influences, but puts a much more aggressive and sludgy edge on the
proceedings. All this is rounded off by hellish demonic screams and pounding
beats that bring a healthy dose of power to this already punishing record.
Rock-A-Rolla Magazine: Volition batter out
thick extreme doom metal, they show that the stoned experimental left of the
genre aren't running things yet. Keeping a sense of melody high on the
agenda, they are still a profoundly weighty affair. Expressing a sense of
real pessimism over yer-everyday-doom-darkness, the band proves that they have a
heart even if it is a pulped patchwork of nailgun scars and stitchwork.
Rock Sound Magazine: Nearly 60 Years since
Orwell wrote of a boot stamping on a human face forever, northern doom mongers
Volition are here with the soundtrack. Driven by guttural growls and guitars
strung with telegraph wire, their crippling funeral sludge is what Corrupted
might sound like if they were from Barrow-In-Furness.
Kerrang Magazine: Their songs are lengthy,
but they don't drag on; they drag you along with them, as the weight of the
riffs threatens to prolapse your ears.
