Volunteer State Community College is a public two-year community college in Gallatin, Tenn., serving a twelve-county region including the counties of Clay, Davidson, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale and Wilson. Sounds pretty official. We're also a community of more than 7,000 students and hundreds of faculty and staff. We're here to offer students a diverse and challenging education in more than 70 study areas. Some students care about taking general education classes, acclimating to college, and preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university. Other students are interested in a two-year degree, to get into the workplace fast in everything from Paralegal studies to Medical Laboratory Technology. A community college is about who you are, and where you want to go in life. Vol State also offers plenty of distractions on campus. You can work on the student newspaper, join a political group, take part in a play or write for a student literary magazine. We have a great athletics program...well, we could go on for hours. Become our friend and we can tell you more!
